F150 Power Seat, Power Pedal and Power Mirror Fix.
The 11th generation of F150's (2004 - 2008) display a unique quirk in the wiring harness that causes the drivers power seat, both power mirrors and power pedal to fail - but excludes the passenger power seat. With those symptoms, it's likely a corroded wire in the harness. A quick reconnection of three wires will save you time, money and energy.

as so many others have said - this was my issue too. First tried replacing the fuse and found the old fuse was just fine. Then I found your video and dove into the electrical harness - I actually had water on the inside of the electrical tape and that wire junction hack that ford did was completely broken. Thank you!

This video just saved me $400! That's what the local Ford dealership quoted to "diagnose and repair" my truck. The wire splice in my truck had actually corroded to the point it had separated. I found the broken splice, did the repair, and had it all back together in less than an hour. Thank you SO much for this video! You rock!

@@YourHomeGarage You have NO idea how much I'm enjoying my working seat! My 23 yr old daughter is about the size of Frodo Baggins and the seat & pedals died after she drove my truck! Everything was adjusted to accommodate a small monkey. I'm 6' 3" and felt like I was in the circus, driving the clown car--it was horrible! Now, thanks to you, I don't get leg cramps when I drive! Andrew, my wife also uses our F-150 and is quite a bit smaller than me. It was just after she moved the seat all the way forward that it quit. So, essentially, until it was fixed, I couldn't drive the truck. Resolved to fix it myself, I turned to RU-vid. After typing in "F-150 power seat not working" your video miraculously popped up. I knew the seats and brake pedal adjustments weren't working-but it was only after watching your video that I went out and found my mirrors were dead, too. That's when I knew you had found the problem. Like everyone else below, can't thank you enough for walking us through this fix. I would have started with the fuse. But once finding that wasn't the problem, I don't know if I ever would have found those corroded wires. You saved me countless hours of frustration and in the end probably thousands of dollars from the dealership replacing all my motors first only to then find the wires and fix those last. You also saved me from a ton of husband-wife arguments since (like a typical guy) during the whole time trying to fix the problem I would have been blaming my wife for breaking it in the first place 🙂

Thanks you for this video, I took my truck to get a hole fixed in the drivers seat and the upholstery guy couldn't get the seat out because the seat would not move. I checked fuses etc all seemed fine then I found your video and Ta-Da easy fix. Got my power mirrors and pedals to work as well. Although my connection was further up in the bundle of wires closer to the fuse box. Also I had to splice in a piece of wire to make them long enough to work. Thumbs up on this video for sure .

Started following your instructions and sure enough started pealing the tape away and nothing but green corrosion . The funny thing is I just had it in the shop on an unrelated eletrical problem a chipmunk had caused under the hood so I thought my mechanic had caused this inadvertantly . I am amazed to find a video on you tube that fixed this problem let alone how in the heck you found the splice and figured this out !! Thank you , Thank you , Thank you !!!! 09-14 Ford owners have the same problem. On 08 and earlier models the orange with green stripe wire corrodes at the splice just below the fuse box, but things are different for 09 and newer. New models changed to a green wire with red stripe and the splice location is no longer in the passenger footwell area. Look for the two green/red wires in the harness connector under the drivers seat. Then trace that wire back from the fuse box, under the sill plate towards the back of the passenger seat. You will likely find green corrosion. Apparently there can be a weak point in the insulation due to water penetration under the sill plate. Patch up the damaged wire, check the connector, plug it back in and everything should hopefully be back. I suspect the reason it’s so hard to find info on this problem for 09 and up, is that Ford actually fixed the problem by moving the splice to a less vulnerable location. This could be an isolated fix but worth the check.

Hi! I've have an 06 lincoln navigator with the same problem. I've been reading about the orange/green wire issue and found your video. It's great! The problem is I've found the orange/green wire but there is no splice in it. The only splice I can find is a beige/white wire. Is it possible that could be it instead? (I may re-splice it anyway since it shouldn't be too hard and see what happens.) Thanks again for a great video!

@YourHomeGarage
@YourHomeGarage 11 месяцев назад
What I’ve heard about the Raptor’s; is the harness under the drivers seat tends to pivot (twist) just enough to sometimes disconnect. This disengages the power seats, mirrors and pedal. Try turning the connector 1/4 to 1/2 a turn while pushing the connectors together to ensure it’s snug. This is assuming all the fuses are still good. This might sound odd, buts it’s common for power seats to cause issues with wiring harnesses. On my Corvette, the power seats loosen my harness just enough that my airbag service light goes off. This happens at least once a year. I just have to push the connectors back together when I get the alert.

My issue is one side/half of the seat still works while the other side has stopped.
@YourHomeGarage
@YourHomeGarage Год назад
Hmmm - I haven't heard of that before. It's not likely a blown fuse or main wiring issue as power is getting to the seat. Have you tried looking at the cables under the seat to see if they are caught on anything or the mechanism isn't off track. I would also try to give the plugs under the seat a good push to reconnect anything that could be loose. Pushing the plugs might sound like an odd task, but on my Corvette the air bag sensor is under the seat and the back and forth movement of the power seat sometimes causes the connection to wiggle loose. So, it might be worth a shot too diagnose that possibility.

The crimp electrical connector that I used filled in the splice gap, so I didn't need to add wire for the repair. However, I can't recall the exact gauge, but it was thin - so 12 to 14 gauge if I remember correctly.
