Things is that a lot of dudes who spent big money to build one these trucks never take them anywhere.....maybe some light desert runs.....light jumps....I have a friend who has fully built Silverado and he pounds that thing...problems is that when you drive them hard, shit brakes.....and it's super expensive....lots of dudes are in debt to their eyeballs and they can't afford to break shit....so most of these are pavement queens....
Yes long travel. No we are not going to get into that idiotic debate. Just because 1 shit for brains raptor youtuber likes to debate nomencature between long travel/mid travel/ center mount/ etc doesnt mean anyone else cares. Its marketed as a LT kit, and in the history of forever has always qualified as an LT kit
Did you have to cut the cab body in the fender wells to clear 39’s? I had to do that on my 04 F150. I have this same DK and Deaver setup on my truck. What did you do for the fuel door? Did you have to fabricate a metal support to the inner fender well as the fiberglass won’t support the weight of the fuel nozzle? I had to do that for my truck as well and it was a pain in the ass! Fiberglass never fits as good as factory. I would recommend spraying the inner fenders with Line-X for strength because the fiberglass is weak and brittle.
It would do everything and then quite a bit more for longer periods of time. You however do not have any of the ECU/TCU logic like the Raptor does, such as Baja mode.
Parts on this truck is around 15-16k, labor varies but it’s all bolt on with the exception of the bypass mount, rear shock mounts and some minor welding trimming. Super capable set up. But for just a front set up, your looking at 9-10k for what he has on his front
It helps if you have friends who build trucks like this and befriend people who work for suspension shops for killer discounts. A case of beer and the know how also goes a long way.
What gears are you running with those 39’s, and how do the cv’s and steering hold up? I’m brainstorming something similar, but for mt. 4-wheeling, not so much prerunning.
Yes on spacers. Every truck with a setup like this needs either a wider axle or spacers to clear the bypasses with the tires. This truck was regeared I believe
5.0 or twin turbo? Looking for inspiration for my build, but this is pretty much the only thing I can find on all of RU-vid... I know you said intercooler, so I should assume it's twin turbo?
