Is it me or do the 2010+s not throw codes? 2013 3.5 progressively rougher idle, severely gas rich exhaust (can smell from other side within 5 seconds no wind), absolutely neutered gas mileage (always beat EPA estimates, even in this truck until recently), lackluster power. 2 dealerships and 2 mechanics I trust found nothing. Looked into it myself, still nothing. Replaced the most likely candidates first. HPFP, LPFP, fuel rail pressure sensor, all 6 injectors, all O2 sensors, air box sensor, throttle body. Still getting 15 to 19 negative long term trims with more negative short terms on both banks
@@vitopannucci2001 Man, come to find out I had a very badly bent o2 sensor that was causing my issues. I’m still stunned how one sensor would cause my truck to shut itself off completely. No CEL either. Finally got a code from advanced auto parts when a CEL one day mysteriously came on. It was so bad!!! Idling to a stop doing 15 and the thing would shut down with cars behind me. Almost got kiss on my rear cause of that happening. It’s been a month and it has leveled out. Hasn’t stalled since. She is back to normal. I replaced coolant, thermostat and water pump. Oil and new oil filter every 5,000. New belts. New hoses. All 8 spark plugs. 8 coil packs to follow. Totally new stock exhaust system. New PCV valve. New throttle body. New 4x4 actuators(I thought maybe one was leaking and I thought that was my issue). New front hubs. New brakes all around. Checked the ABS wire and those are both new. Nope. O2 sensor. It was bent like the dickens like I said, no issues after changing them all out.
I understand that your truck gets used hard, but not any harder than mine. It seems to be "nickle and diming" you. My truck has original everything but 2 water pumps and a starter. 210k miles. 5.0
Always a good video. I watched your videos to get a feel for the removal of the engine in my ranger. Been working on it over the past few days every time when I get a chance. Any tips on removing your AC system? I can’t seem to remove the AC lines running in front of the alternator housing.
I had a crazy issue on my 09 where it was shifting bad and the gauges were going crazy. I was throwing a ton of different codes but was not doing it consistent enough to repeat for the dealer. They replaced the tranny lead frame but no help. Back and forth to the dealer multiple time and then they replace the harness from the ecu to the tranny and that fixed it.
