F150 sunroof fix 

This was awesome, not ready to pay an arm and leg to get the sunroof fixed. This remedy took about 30 minutes start to finish and then ran a hose for about 10 minutes and not a leak to be seen. Thanks for posting this repair option.

I just got a nut & jack bolt & wedged the glass tightly to the seal, unplug switch & no leaks. I wish it wouldn't have broken. I liked the sun-roof.

Extremely helpful. Nobody made a video like this they all show installation. Well just figured out I put it on the wrong track and it makes sense why it opens a little on the expressway. Thank you !!!!!! Okay fixed it now. Great info I would add some silicone sealer just to make sure it doesn’t leak

how do I remove the glass with it being stuck in the open position?

$4k. My dealership wants $4k to fix the sunroof on my '01. When I told them that I just wanted it closed, the tech said, "Sorry, I don't know how." And that was at an official Ford dealership!

This is only a "it might work for you" fix. You mileage WILL vary. Very few broken tracks will shut just because you removed the glass. Best way to do most of them is drop the sunroof motor in the rear, remove the glass and shut the guides manually. They will move after the motor gear is disengaged. Reinstall the glass and make sure it's right, then reinstall the motor and unplug it there instead of the switch. On some models, if you unplug the sunroof switch, it'll also disable the power sliding rear glass if you have one....and nearly all trucks with a sunroof do. But unplug the motor and the power rear slider will usually work.

Thanks for the video. I have owned several vehicles with sun roofs and never really used them. I just bought a used 2012 F250 and noticed the tracks are broke. For $1000-2000 to fix is not even an option to consider for me. Going to try and do what you did here.

Great video and I hope everyone joins the class action lawsuit against for this. This has been going on for years, and Ford is still installing crappy parts. I will never ever buy another ford in my entire life again. I thought I love my Ford F150 Limited but this really angered me.

My issue is that it is stuck all the way open - I heard the "Click/crack" and figured that was one of the plastic track pieces - is there a way to get at the glass panel without taking the headliner down? - unreal that ford would make something like that that is so hard to access. - I have an 03 linc Navigator, but it's basically an expedition - same unit - same kit - same problems - Gorilla tape and thick plastic is getting old! - thanks all!

You said they make a dorman kit to fully repair it correctly. What is the part number for the dorman kit. That you had there in the video

So if we buy the repair kit and fix it do you still have to take the headliner and all out or can you just take the glass out replace the broken parts and put the glass back in?

I have never used mine! I’ve noticed a small amount of condensation on my console. I think mine is leaking. What do I do?? Never used. I hate a sunroof.

Did Ford check to see if this was covered under Service Bulletin SB-10055574-7472? I'm trying to figure out what "binding" means to Ford.

Would those parts be broke on mine if it opens and closes fine just doesn’t go up that last 1/2” to seal? If I hold the button it goes up but as soon as I let off it comes back down

Managed to get the light fixture down and unplug the controls - tried to re-install the light fixture - the unplugged assembly was in the way and I could NOT install the light. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have an 05 expedition but it's like stuck it wont open or complete close I can here the motor Woking but it's like stuck how can I open it to close it manually or to get it fix any help?

I’m pretty sure my track was off on one side, wouldn’t open but would close until a year later, today it made a full tilt and I shat my pants. Then I tried to slide all the way back and boom goes all the plastic. Followed this video. Found all my broken small pieces of plastic. Not sure where some of them broke from. Definitely not spending $ on this China crap. Pretty piss poor engineering. I’m glad I didn’t pay anything extra for the sunroof though. 2011 3.5 170K miles never had an issue till this

Did you have sunroof vibration at highway speeds?... will this fix stop that? I'd like to quick fix until i can get around to doing it properly.
