Continuing sheet metal work, this time on my own cab. I cut out a section of bad metal I didn't know I had and get one side finished. The second side I'm planning on finishing off camera, but I'll eventually share my results when it's complete. This was my first time welding sheet metal and grinding it down. The welding went great, but I screwed up when I ground the metal too thin and had cut it out and do it again. Lesson learned.

Why do you use the masking tape if you already have a marker line?

The tape is easier to see when the sparks are flying, and the straight edge helps me align the wheel with the tape for a near perfect cut. Mostly, the line is there to help align the tape, and I use both for redundancy. Laying the tape makes a great straight edge for areas such as that. Tiral and error, and I used what worked for me the best.

That sir, is a Hobart 210 MVP on 230v. Using a .24 wire with 75/25 CO2/Argon mix for the gas.
