@@argophontes LMFAO tbh it only hit me what they were doing halfway through the video, but even then I wasn't sure cause it just looks so ridiculous and I don't get why they were doing it like that
For Posterity... "The second oldest competition class for flying model aircraft is control line or F2 class models. Their popularity rose quickly after the World War II and they were accepted into FAI/CIAM World Championship competition in 1960. These model aircraft are controlled in flight by a system of two wires leading from a simple “C” shaped handle...." "In F2C, the model aircraft race each other with three pilots flying their aircraft in the same circle simultaneously. Each model has a mechanic who starts the engine at the race starter’s signal and catches and refuels the model when it runs out of fuel. In a 10 kilometer (100 laps of the circle) race, refueling is done twice on average because of the mandatory 7.0cc limit on fuel capacity. Speeds of 200 kilometers per hour are achieved and pilots must exercise great skill in overtaking competitors, and in takeoffs and landings, with this degree of model performance. Competition is close and many races are won by tenths of seconds which requires great pit stop skill on the part of the mechanics. Championship caliber mechanics catch the model, refuel it, restart the engine with 1 flick of the propeller, and release it in less than 4 seconds."
Ok, I have no idea what the hell is going on here but I’m going to declare that some #Ozzyman commentary would make it at least a million times better.
This is a branch of the beginning of aeromodelling, the Control Line Flight. Quite an ancient category. Precursor of the RC stuff we see today. I've never done it, but I know guys that loved it back in the day. It has its beauty. Said that, this is the first time I've seen a race of this kind and I had a laugh (what can I say, it looks funny) while understanding the point of it. Deserves my respect. Cheers!
Back when I was young in the late, we had annual competitions and the speed competitions were done individually. This speed race was fantastic. It appears that my thinking that control line flying was a thing of the past. I'm overwhelmed by what I have been seeing. Thanks to all of you.for bringing back my memories.
I'm not a fan of RC or whatever these people are doing, but i watched the whole video, and can deeply respect the love, determination and respect they have for the sport and hobby they are into. I enjoyed at least, that aspect of this clip. I have no idea what was going on, but am glad that i got to watch a video of people doing things they love. Well done and thank you.
Reminds me of something I once saw in a dream. As I woke from that dream and pondered what I had seen, I realized this really made no sense in the real world. But in the dream, it actually made complete sense. I can’t be the only one that has had dreams like this.
Wow.. I guess you have to have a special disposition to find this sport meaningful. But the world becomes more colorful and entertaining with these enthusiasts in it. Keep on the good work!

A short while ago I did a search using the title of this video and the results showed one video after another with people participating in this ... cheek to cheek activity. That would be both upper and lower cheeks at various times throughout the video. You know, growing up I owned a few different line-control planes ... that I flew Solo. The planes were very cool and I saw someone flying one and thought "I want to do that!" But watching this crew that uncontrollable itch to emulate what others are doing somehow escapes me. And I am perfectly fine with that :-)
I was waiting for something amazing to happen as soon as ole dude took forever preparing that little plane. Next thing I know 3 guys are playing musical chairs without the chairs lol
I'm sure it would be much cooler in person and to actually get to see the planes instead of just the guys dancing in the center. Ridiculously fast pit stops by team green though!
I never did any racing like this. But when I flew control line aircraft in middle school I found it very difficult to not get dizzy, esp with fast aircraft like this. I actually fell down and lost the plane into the wall, which is why you see the hard hats and fencing.
This was on tv last year right after the air breathing championships, and before the paint drying competition. The commercials were brought to you by the grass growing council.
@@shacharliberman5084 You are very welcome! Bog Snorkeling looks like a very fine sport indeed though not something we come across too often here in Australia! :-) Cheers, David
This is "IT" this is the ONE truly badass one of a kind, cant reproduce that, doesn't get any worse... doesn't get any better... THIS IS THE ONE VIDEO THAT HAS IT ALL.
