Good job Dan. I am a classic raft construction enthusiast, now with my 50 years I have returned to construction after not building for a while and I have remembered the satisfaction it gave me, and watching your videos I think the same thing happens to you. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to seeing the new video, greetings from Spain
There sure are a lot of parts. It is looking good!!!! I used to work on aircraft when I was in the Air Force. I hope it turns out well and will fly like a eagle.
Great use of different glues (wood glue and CA). I find wood glue is much better to sand, I only use CA to 'tack' wood into place. I wish I could find the patience to make the parts fit so well!
The vertical stab construction reminds me of Hanno Prettners Magic!! I built a 45/70 fs version back from the eighties. It had a anhidral horizontal stab that had dutch roll at slow speeds. Not a problem just on approach to landing it was visible!
Looks great! Doing lots of architectural models, I often found it convenient to put the cyanoacrylate glue kicker/accelerant in a hypodermic syringe instead of using the spray can. Usually it would only take a tiny drop and then I'd get no overspray staining the model.. Less of that awful stuff to breath in as well and it lasts forever that way..
Great building job. Awesome to say the least. I love building as much as I like flying so your videos are well appreciated. Take care and Happy New Year. 9:58
Very nice work Dan. For the parts that need wetting may I recommend ammonia instead of water. Ammonia won’t swell wood , evaporates relatively quickly but while it is wet with ammonia it allows the balsa to bend beautifully…. I just brush it on neat…. You’ll never use water again 😊
Hi, Dan. I'm a guy from Brazil, who living in Japan. I've been watching yours videos and when I saw this beautiful work, was impossible do not to subscribe on your channel. thank u so much for share wirh us this beautiful work. tell me if u could sells a kit from the instructure and the plants? your work are really amazing.
amazingly detailed precision. My compliments. What decides whether to use individual planks versus solid sheeting? Is it the compound curves of the upper fuse?
Hello all. When I was younger before i had kids, i use to build and fly the pilot kits . My favorite planes to build and fly was the bf 109 and the p51 . My kids are grown up with there own family's now . I have found that no hobby shop sell wood kits anymore. All pre fab foam. Who makes kits and where can i get them ? Thank you
