I think if they were told they could only stick to mostly practical effects, it'd force them to focus more on actual story. Throughout the franchise it went from mostly practical to visual effects and its just all a big spectacle now.

@@kennethmatthewn.tabbilos1584 Well it was never about street racing at all. It was about an Undercover Cop infiltrating the gangs to find out the truth of who's behind the truck heist. F&F is a crime action genre, street racing was never been the focus of the story. It's more of a side story/sub plot/side feature of the franchise but they sometimes do street racing onwards. Like Quidditch from Harry Potter, James Bond kissing & banging women's, and random nudities from Game of Thrones show from what I've heard.

Vehicles in this movie have lots of momentum: an upturned truck smoothly slides several city blocks without slowing, the rolling car keeps up with a powered car in the bridge scene, bad guys have some excellent lubrication and elasticity in their materials.

We’ll Hobbs does fit in the Fast franchise but Hobbs wants to spend time with his own family and also Dom’s family! Dwayne Johnson has gotten fed up with Vin Diesel about his wonderful performance as Luke Hobbs and Dwayne Johnson is not going to tolerate Vin Diesel’s selfish actions and that’s why Dwayne Johnson left the Fast franchise!
