Could someone please explain what the other functions are IE the velocity & heading how do I program that properly, also the JSOW in the training the wings don't deploy until its almost at the target but when I program it it deploys the wings straight away & takes ages to get to the target.
With the awesome new PP mode, You can program all the JSOW/JDAMS individually under one PP mission. Then pickle them all off at once(If the targets are in a close group) and they will find their individual targets.
Wags said it is because their small cross section. It is a stealth weapon for radar guides SAMs. Maybe triple A and smalls detect it visually. So a test in day and night conditions would be interesting.
@@therocinante3443 No, the JSOW is INS, guided, (as well as GPS, but anyway) which i passive, the HARM is also passive, homing in on the emissions of the radar, what would it home on otherwise? and the reason the harms get tracked is that in game, they have a bigger radar cross section, but the JSOW`s are smaller i believe,
@CAG Hotshot yeah, the JSOW i think has a good composite of materials, that doesn't reflect many radar emissions, and the HARM is far more rigid, and reflects more radar emissions
The f18 might lack character but it’s incredibly versatile and practical. ED are impressing me a lot with this module, especially when it comes to the complex weapon systems.
You could just click on the target itself in the F10 map and on the lower left corner of the map it will give you the coordinates. The northern hours will be cut off but that's not a problem since they don't change withing the same map. You also won't have to move the mouse every time you change the coordinate format.
Can take 6 on the FA18C, one on each of Stations 3 and 7 , two on a dual rack on stations 2 and 8. But the release sequence can be a bit strange if you're not prepared for it... take case if setting up multiple 'Missions' for the dual racks. I find the JSOW A tends to release LONG by about 50 mtrs, so need to take that into account when setting target coordinates.
JSOWs - TOD method - settings HSI to lock on a way point. Then Bring that Way Point up on the FLIR. Question - why when i have locked up ground targets, many metres away from where the Way Point set and appeared on the flir, why do all JSOWS proceed to engage the Way Point rather than the targets that were locked?
I do believe that the term "kinetic" will alter sooner rather than later - a truly kinetic weapon will have no chemical explosive warhead such as a railgun projectile which relies on multi-mach speed to impart its energy on a target. It gets even better when telegraph pole lengths of something dense will be dropped from medium Earth orbit (or fired by railgun from the Moon) onto cities.....(some way off there - or are they)? Best, Pete. :).
@@Derek-cb9lx I said it will alter NOT it had altered, If you want to score Brownie points off me, though, go ahead.....I'll give you 5. Can be redeemed at Starfucks.
Just cannot understand Finland, Suisse are replacing so modern multitask fighters to F-35....politics and corruption...at least in Finland there is plenty of flight hours left because part of the Hornet-hours have been done using Bae Hawks.......
@@The_Wildfish_ The two specific ships I'm thinking off are anchored at the North Western island. They never move but do throw a ton of missiles at anything that even looks at the island. Them, the SA-10 on the island and the Sam site on the peninsula to the East make that part of the map a no fly zone until they are taken out or run out of ammo.
What is the difference irl with these modes as waypoints are set using coordinates as well? And how do you know exactly which coordinates the enemy is on? And how do I know in game which coordinates a target is if it’s on a server which only has areas with targets so you only see orange circles or have to use a website
Tried it out against an SA 10 Today in SP. It shot all four of them down from 28 Nm like nothing.(Edit:) Maybe they updated them, maybe it doesnt work when the Grumble is set to Red and fire...
I was having trouble creating a training mission for the AGM-154As until I set the waypoint used for WPDSG to 0ft radar alt. If I didn't do that my JSOWs would try to climb last minute and just circle the target until it runs out of energy. I assume this happens because it is trying to reach the waypoint altitude + the height set in TOO UFC. Before I did this I tried setting height in TOO UFC to the default 900ft, no luck. Set it to 1800ft because the height of the target was ~900ft ASL, no luck. It wasn't until I changed the waypoint alt that it worked for both 900ft and 1800ft. I'll have to do more testing but this seems to be the case. Maybe somebody with more knowledge can correct me but if you're having trouble with the AGM-154A missing the target, try this.
how about the game actually works, waypoints randomly refuse to be assigned to weapons, meaning gps guided weapons like this just fly into the ground rather than home in on a waypoint that took ages to key in
None of my lovely drones got even close to the SA-10 - even an average skilled SA-10 gets them all shot down - probably the SA-10 got an update since this video was made ?
Complex question, how can i get a 8digits coords without pod, without using F10 screen and with a friend using A-10C with pod ? I have tryed to convert grid coords from a10c to lat lon but its not accurate
@@grimreapers 5+5 digit. Btw, its possible to setup 2 different JSOW coords on the same pylon ? im trying to setup 4 different bombs on 2 pylons buts seems impossible, im only able to setup 2 bombs of 4
Hey Cap! First of all thanks for those tutorials. I'm currently trying out JSOWs and while the TOO mode works fine, I keep getting error messages in PP mode when confirming target longitude. Any Idea?
yeh PP has changed recently, the only reason I don't update vid is because it's due to change again. Also regards your error, make sure you check which coordinate format your Hornet is in. It can be in several different formats, get to that via HSI page->Data need to match correct format on entry. Annoying.
@@grimreapers yeah I just wanted to use that sweet range of jsow for sa sites since harms are most usually shot down. After some practice concluded that I have better chance with harms rather than jsow. Thanks for it anyway keep up the good work
Hello, I am new to DCS, do you have videos on how to use DCS and how to load that map in the mfd. I have the f18, where do you get the instructions, to learn how start up and fly.
I'm SURE the reapers have a tutorial that will suit your needs. Check their F/A-18 playlist and I bet you'll find what you're looking for. I've become a decent A-10C pilot watching exclusively reapers videos and I'm sure you can learn from them.
@@therocinante3443 may i suggest watching a few other videos if you haven't already, spreading your knowledge over a whole host of videos is definitely worth the time
Sean Bailin Thanks for the advice. What hosta do you recommend. When I get the hang of everything and a lot of practice YOU CAN BE MY WINGMAN. Thanks again.
Im not a military expert. But I think because it acts more like a missile than a bomb. So maybe they pass all the AGM designation requirements but not the GBU designation requirements
Guys you need to get onto utube if English, there putting anti English and English shaming adverts on your videos, for example 1 guy saying he's European 1st British second and he's learnt to hate the term and nationality English. Get out of England then is what I think ,stop trying to indoctrinate us with this dribble. Sorry but I hate those that attack my country even in this pathetic gaslighting way such as this statement the chap made. I wish the chap well but he shouldn't keep spewing such politically driven ,manipulation attempts ,speak info honest sod the misdirection and manipulation bs.
