@@1Deejay7 an Indian, like 12, 13 years old, played hikaru in a tournament, came back after 2 pawns down and drew the game, hikaru was steaming and said to the boy "you resign when you're lost". Mate, that's really low for a super GM to go.
Wow, watching this a couple of years too late, really strikes me as a chill cool guy. Usually in interviews he's quite dry and reserved, which I can appreciate as well, not everyone has to be a clown like Anish or thug life as Grischuk - but this really showed another side of Fabi that was really nice to see :-)
@@shivammaheshwari6388 Just memorising supercomputer moves doesn't make someone world no 2. Fabi is a beast in classical. In 2018 WCC, Fabi drew Magnus 14/14 and lost only in the tie breaker.
Eric furious: throwing things, complete immersion at the game, cheering when winning Fabi furious: reading chat, talking smoothly, making jokes, winning all games
Thank you for sharing Fabi! Can't underestimate Eric Hansen either, he's also been doing some serious improving. And definitely good luck playing Magnus for the crown. Anyone would need it.
jesus... "that blunders a pawn" that blunders an exchange" that blunders a pawn as well" while I have to pause video go back 5 secs, analyze and conclude, yeah, that does blunder something. Im so slow.
That was a technical comment meant to help improve the channel. No disrespect was intended nor was any present. I am sorry you thought so, but - my reply was up-voted for a reason; because it was correct. Analysis without emotion will illustrate the benefit of fixing the audio. Ask the moderator - or ask Fabiano. I bet you will get the same answer from both - that the comment was helpful.
@@sparklesparkle5046 best players in history come on now you cant be that blind.also said to be relevant not that he is not he made a full of himself in blitz
@ 28:04 Can anyone think of a refute to Nxd5? After pawn take d5 bxb5 hitting the unprotected rook I can’t find a good reply for black that doesn’t loose material. C5 can be refuted with Nxc5 forking the queen and bishop. After queen moves let’s say Qe8; Kxb7+ with a discovery on the rook. So to avoid this line black must not take the kd5 and be contempt w losing a pawn.
cmon Fabi @ 42:15 just Nf6+ crushes you allowed him back in the game. Btw I wouldn't expect him to see Qxh7+!! in speed chess but that's really nice! kxh7 nf6+ double check forces mate (kg7 rh7+ kf8 rh8+ and mate on either g8 or e8)
around 2:13:00 this starts to get vaguely disturbing even the best sometimes we lose without understanding and sometimes we win without understanding chess is fun?
Reminds me a little bit of Peter Svidler. He knows he played a terrible move, right after he plays it. The title really should be Caruana vs Hansen. Almost all the games are thus.
if the world championship goes to tie breaks there is zero chance fabi wins. Fabi is my favorite player and it is no slander to say that he is not in the top ten of the world in fast time controls
It's good for Fabi that he is not playing for the world blitz championship , he would have no chance versus Magnus , twelve games of classical though will give good chances in a short match , get to rapid and blitz tiebreaks and it's all Carlsen being highly favored . The world title match should be at least sixteen classical games instead .
"Not that good at blitz"? You do understand what 2800 means, yes? And I doubt very seriously that the dream will go away any time soon. All it takes is for Carlsen to have a bad day or two... entirely possible!!
Lothor "not as good", true. 2800 is still 2800 and there are not many of those! OTB Fabian is an amazing gift. On top of that, has a great personality that comes across on video... This is what a world champion ought to look like. 😀
Lol, 11:10:00 "Did Eric just mate himself....I'd really love to see his reaction, chuckle"!! Right! Hey bro and brahs didn't know we could PnP in chess too. Lol. Eric is good maybe braver (more aggressive) after a few. Came back, good for him. Thx.
That doesn't seem like Hansen's style at all, going into theoretical main lines against Fabi?... and beating him easily with some demonic tactical lines... I smell a rat here, honestly...
there was no "beating him easily" lol Fabi was very classy and didn't always play what he knew to be the best move instead intending to keep games interesting for the viewers and as such was punished severely because of its unprincipled nature.
Hey... Eric is probably a great partner in case the WC comes down to Armageddon, and these guys have to have talked about that... MC still better, but what about some blitz with HN too? Fabi has friends in high places! Maybe Andrew Tang...?
Andrew is a good bullet player, but his has no chance against any 2600 GM in blitz. He relies heavily on classical theory in his openings and if one can get him out of theory early he is mediocre blitz player..., at least thats what i heard Naka say. We often forget that he is 18yrs and barely scrapped through his norm yet most world class GMs are easily playing at 2600+ at 16yrs... So great guy, great bullet player, but not even close to Eric in blitz.
