Oh my goodness how precious is River! Feeling blue but not anymore. My favorite Christmas movie is It's a wonderful life. I love Christmas in the traditional colors.
It’s never too early For Christmas. When it gets close to Christmas, you are too busy sometimes to create things. Need to sew early so you are not overwhelmed around all the holidays. Not a fan of directional fabric but i too like traditional christmas colors. That is a nice collection of fabrics. Thanks for who you are. Enjoy watching. 😊
Love Christmas any time of year, and I think you picked a great collection. I’m glad I’m not the only one who disregards my logical mind (don’t need fabric), and buys what call to me (even if I do have a huge shelf of fat quarters already (as well as a shelf of jelly rolls, one for layer cakes etc. etc…..). Thanks for the moments of zen - always needed in this crazy world!
Good morning and happy All Hallows Eve Eve! Hard to believe there's only 62 days left in 2024. Well, it's barely 6:30am here so I guess I have to include today in the count, so 63. It's true that *in general* it's too early for Christmas, that rule doesn't apply when it comes to sewing & crafting. That takes time, so of course you want to get your supplies in plenty of time to have finished projects by the holiday. You've picked some really nice ones, too. I'm not a huge fan of vintage Christmas ornaments, but I love the vintage ad style which makes that print a winner for sure. The peppermint disks are fun, too (if you unfocus your eyes a bit & look "through" the print, you can get a bit of a 3D "Magic Eye" effect with this one - especially the version with the white background - and also with the twinkling stars print. I can *almost* do it with the plaids, but the effect isn't as strong). I even like them in the blue/grey-green colorway; they look more like petunias than candies on that one, which isn't very Christmassy but it sure is pretty. Did I count correctly - is it 25 pieces? If so, that's very appropriate for a Christmas collection (12 would have been, too, but twice as many is better LOL). Oh, Andy Weir is a compelling author, isn't he? I didn't think "Project Hail Mary" could possibly be as good as "The Martian," and boy am I glad I decided to buy the book anyway. I've been having a lot of difficulty reading lately (too easily distracted, plus a strong sense of "there are so many other things that I could/should be doing" that I just can't focus), however this one was fascinating and I actually read the entire book without abandoning it, which is saying a lot. (I miss reading. I read all the time when I was younger, and I really, really miss being able to just while away a few hours with a good novel.) Favorite Christmas movie. Does it have to be a movie-movie, or do holiday specials count? If the former, then it would be "A Christmas Story" tied with the original "Miracle on 34th Street" with Natalie Wood. ("But when he spoke Dutch to that little girl..." "Susan, I speak French, that doesn't make me Joan of Arc!") If the latter, than the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is the clear winner. You can also throw "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" (featuring a very young Pia Zadora in her first movie role) into the ring, partly from the nostalgia since I grew up watching it every year, and partly because it's such a lousy movie, I can't help but love it.
Good Morning Holly, this collection is beautiful. I do believe that one is snowballs. So many beautiful prints. I love the old movies and white Christmas is at the top of the list...Bells of St Mary's is no really Christmas, but I do try to watch it every year.
Hi Holly, very nice fabric, the decorations ones are fab. My favourite Xmas movie is, Polar Express. We got it for the children, but my husband and I watch it every year 🎄🎅
You go ahead and do Christmas! I’m Canadian and I’ve already done Thanksgiving, so technically you have waited until after for some of us. I also love watching fabric hauls. I love traditional colours AND non-traditional. My decor never has a theme other than ‘I like it’.
Soo pretty! Love the ornaments on the dark green. Christmas is NEVER too early for me. I already started listening to Christmas concerts. Just in my ear at work. Not everyone loves Christmas music like me. Oh my gosh - That baby River is SOOO darling!!! ♥️👅♥️ oh BTW love your little watch ghost 🧡👻💜
Great fabrics! I love the sales at the Green Fairy...my budget does not lol. Sending prayers to Elisa and her family as they heal. 9mgosh that moment of zen is perfection! River is adorable and gosh I miss that age! ❤❤❤❤
This collection reminds me of my two grandmothers. One was very traditional - the red and green and that plaid . The other was more contemporary . She would have loved the blues and pinks. She was the one with the white tin like tree with blue lights lol. My ginger quilter Christmas box you suggested well let’s say I couldn’t help but order it . Well it arrived so I think it is time to move on to Christmas lol😂 but the temps here are 80 oh my . Guess I should look for surfing Santa material. Love that river,
I’ve been working on Christmas quilts since September! Decided to make one for each of my adult children for Christmas and one has to get them to the long armer in plenty of time…. This is a pretty line. Thanks for sharing! River is adorable!
Green Fairy has some really great sales. I love looking at fabric when other people show it! Sandy Gervais has some great lines of fabric! White Christmas is my favorite too. River!🥰
Hi Holly, Summer is here indeed! LOL!!! I hope your day goes well. Christmas anytime in my humble opinion! Beautiful fabric haul! The Creative notions box is ost always late. 🤥
This is the perfect time to buy Christmas Fabric. If you want to make something you have some time to work on it. River is precious! Seeing her reminds mw of my grandbabies at that age. So many sweet memories!
you have to discuss christmas now if you makes gifts. if you wait till december you won't finish them. actually quilters start in august for christmas gifts.
Prayers for Lisa and her family!🙏❤️ Holly, I am also a traditional Christmas person! When I see Christmas fabrics in traditional colors, I have NO self control! I have to have it! I can appreciate some of the lines that include the pinks and blues but I wouldn’t seek them out and I don’t decorate with those colors. We always begin decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving evening we get in the mood by watching our favorite Christmas movies! The first movie we watch every year is White Christmas! My whole family knows it’s my favorite and it has become a tradition!🎅🤶🎄
I do think all creators do Christmas way before in order to have it ready. I have been working on gifts since July. If I didn't I would never complete them. No apologies needed. Crafters are busy all year round. TFS
Hello Holly. It is never too soon for Christmas. S I listen to this video I am quilting a Christmas quilt for my granddaughter in Law who is due to have a baby boy on Christmas Day. I already finished his quilt. I loved the fabric 🙏🏻🙏🏻 for Lisa.
