Learn to decorate your walls with a bunch of fabrics and embroidery hoops! This is a project I've used to decorate the wall in my youtube background for years now and it's really easy. Read this video description for a list of materials and more information!
Materials you need to make this:
1. Various sizes of embroidery hoops (as many as you'd like!) - you can find these at most craft stores.
2. Fabric in whichever colors or patterns you'd like. Some craft stores sell small pieces of fabric in color-coordinating patterns and colors in a pack. You could also use old shirts or pajamas or curtains if you'd like to upcycle some fabrics!
3. Fabric scissors
4. White felt (optional, if you'd like to use it behind your fabrics)
5. Painter's tape (this shouldn't harm the paint on your walls - other kinds of tape might)
6. Push pins or nails and a hammer (or small command hooks if you can't make holes in your walls).

Ooh, I might try this with some of my old tshirts that I don't wear anymore but still love. As a non-crafty person, I think I could just about manage this! Thanks Lauren!

***** That's a really great idea! Let me know how it turns out! :D

This reminds me of the framed scrapbook paper on Lizzie's bedroom wall in the background of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries videos. They're both nice simple ways to add a pop of color. It would be cool to do this by using old t-shirts that are important to you, but you might have outgrown.

I recently moved my bed into a corner and have been starring at this big blank space above the bed. I've been afraid of hanging something to heavy in fear that it will fall off the wall while I'm sleeping. This would be a great project to fix the emptiness! I think I will go pick up an extra pillow case that matches my sheets and start with that particular color. Then I can take it to a fabric store and mix and match prints. As always, thank you for sharing! How lucky that your new house has such a cheery yellow craft space! :)

I love this! It's simple and so easy to switch out if you get bored with the fabrics or colors. I recently moved into a new apartment so I hope to try this soon.

I think I might even try this. I would use greens and blues in different sized hoops. Thanks for posting.

Ooo, love the idea of just trimming it in the back instead of glueing it down. I'll have to make a few of these for my dorm room. I have a pretty teal fabric that my Grandma gave me. There's not really enough of it for a sewing project but it would be perfect to put in a hoop!

I bought a bunch of little hoops from a yard sale a while back and always wondered how they worked. Now I can put them into use - wonderful tutorial, Lauren!

PuddingFishCakes Aww, yay! I love using these hoops for crafts - they're pretty versatile! I also made a big hanging time-turner with a few of them once and that might be my favorite thing I've ever made.

I love the idea of this because I want a visually interesting background for my reading nook where I'll be filming my videos in this new apartment that I have but I don't have any specific framed art in mind. I think it might be really fun to paint something onto the fabric, too!

I love this idea! I'm moving this week and this will be perfect wall decor for my sewing room/office since I can't paint.

Kelsey Gibson Aw, yay! It would be great for your sewing room. I originally started doing this to decorate my walls because I couldn't paint them, and it's a really great way to get a lot of color and style up on the walls quickly.

I have this awesome pattern for a crochet border/frame that is meant to go on a bangle, but I'm thinking of doing it on the outer embroidery hoop, then using using it to frame either a piece of embroidery I've done (since I recently got into embroidery) or an applique (like the waffle you did with Jackson, haha!)

I was wondering if you could maybe do a DIY video with duct tape? I went through some stuff I had in storage and realized I have a LOT of duct tape lol I'd love to see what sort of awesome crafts you could suggest for such a strange medium
@LaurenFairwx

xMELMO'S WORLDx My friend Karen Kavett is a duct tape master and the only duct tape crafts I've made are from tutorials on her channel! I think you'd love her videos. I made luggage tags from this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aaMbDtZlDkg.html and I'm a big Parks and Rec fan so I thought this waffle purse was amazing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T_bOdw43CVI.html

I'm always amazed by your videos! Where do you record voiceover? It sounds really good :) I was actually going to upload a Quibbler DIY yesterday but my video wouldn't process so I'll have to save it for later!

WiseHufflepuff Aw, thank you Vegard! I record my voiceovers right in Final Cut Pro (they have a little voiceover recording window that you can open) with a Blue Snowball USB microphone.
