I find it interesing how no two people would pick out the same fabrics. She's going for the pink fabric and I'm looking at the blue florals in the background thinking now, that's my jam:)

I would look into having the fruit earrings and necklace cleaned professionally. Not only are they corroded but they could be polished as well. Lovely find!

I live in NH and last month I had a costuming project so naturally I was marathoning your videos nonstop while sewing. And then I went to my local Joann's and saw a girl that looked exactly like you. I thought maybe I was just watching too many of your videos and was beginning to see things, but hearing that you went to NH recently makes me think maybe I wasn't going crazy!

What a coincidence! I DID go to a Jo-anns while I was there! Because my newest pattern had just come out (but I found some other stuff to buy too...) It would have been one near concord or manchester!

That flower print was of peonies! Chrysanthemum always has very thin petals, sometimes curling, sometimes more pointy. Peonies fold in on themselves a bit, and when they're fully bloomed you see a center that's yellow when it's a natural colour scheme.

Awesome purchases! I’m the same with Fur, I can appreciate and enjoy antique/vintage pieces, but certainly don’t support the modern fur trade as there’s no need for it. Look forward to seeing all the material in use! P.S. Definitely recommend buying an ultrasonic cleaner for vintage jewellery! It cleans the pieces with just warm water and super strong vibrations, I’ve had lots of pieces come out amazing afterwards.

I think we have an ultrasonic cleaner - so I'll give that a try (maybe with one of the earrings first) thanks for the tip! :)

This was Just what I needed, Thanks Angela, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by how fun it was to go on this shopping adventure with you. With you doing 2 of my favorite things, antiquing and shopping fabrics. I really enjoyed the Antiquing, I could spend hours in each store. I would LOVE to check out this area in Pennsylvania. Maybe someday, I'm COMPLETELY on the other side of the United states. and we are in Covid-19 Lockdown and have been for a month. So I haven't gone Anywhere in awhile...But I just went Virtual shopping with you so thanks for that. Can't wait to see what you create with your new fabric's

GUESS WHAT I managed to actually use a sewing machine today! I stretched and sewed some elastic along the back waistband of a skirt that was too big but idk what happened it lost a whole load of stretch.. but I still DID IT
@DAYBROK3
@DAYBROK3 5 лет назад
did you anchor one side of the elastic and stretch the elastic to the other side? or did you make the elastic the same size as the waistband? the elastic needs to be shorter than you think. also use a zig-zag stitch.

Your fruit jewellery is definitely 1940's. It was a summer holiday fun look derived from Cuba and Latin America. Usually worn with an off the shoulder peasant blouse. The actress Carmen Miranda was the extreme form of this but she's very fun.😂
