Thank you for the video! Sometimes I think you're nuts! This is a great looking improvement and you give me some good ideas!! I can't thank you enough for that. Keep it going.👍

Great informative video! Do you have a link to the 3d print file?

I would be glad to share that, but it has changed quite a bit since this video. In later iterations, I had to add phenolic spacer and that changed the shape of the cover. The current one also is two part, and comes together with overlapping tabs. The reduced space made it difficult to install as one piece Here is a link to the video showing the install of that spacer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mmRPKHIqtcg.htmlsi=u4Il6bzzXsUpnmhs

The Venturi effect causes the acceleration of the airflow, reducing the pressure, and increasing air density. However, as soon as the air passes the restricted area, the airflow decelerates, pressurized increased and density returns to normal. Air density in the carb is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is density in combustion chamber and a trumpet on a carb won’t change that. What trumpet does is smooth the airflow going into the carb, allowing better atomization across the jet than a turbulent airflow would allow.

Thanks for the clarification. The air temp does affect the density, though. I think I was covering both topics at the same time there. Sorry if I confused the issue. Great feedback. It all helps

The air is also going through the outer filter element and you have installed the filter such that this part of the filter element is behind the rad support. Or would be getting colder air if the entire filter was fully in front of the rad.

Yeah, it's a compromise. There is only 3 inches of clearance in that area. This was the smallest high flow filter I could find. It is 3.8 inches. Also, while fabricating this solution, I came to better respect engineers. Mechanics often complain that engineers make it too hard to work on cars. But now I understand the challenge of balancing form function, and accessiblity.
