Fabulous Free Quilt Pattern using a Layer Cake - Fast and Easy 

April I have had a rotten no good stinky day today! I have been crying and just beating myself up and I was looking for something new to watch and you popped on my screen and I started thanking you knowing I needed you. LOL No it has been a really tough day and you made my smile and feel better. I love this quilt and I just found out that I had some layer cakes that were hiding from me. So this may be my project to do tomorrow to get me back up on the "wagon" and get things together. You are a God send!!! Thanks so very much!!!

My kind of quilt. It's easy, but allows for some creativity. I might be tempted to use a HST, one per block, and use it to play with the color. Black and white is so cool with splashes of color.

I like this pattern. I would use a sapphire blue for a pop of color with the black and white layer cake. To finish it, I think I would put a 2" black border around the quilt top, followed by a 5" blue border. Bind with blue.

I saw a quilt that was white on black squares and inserted a Hawaiian print material that was mainly white on black with a dab of red. Made your eyes search out the red. the seamstress like you are awesome!

I used this exact same fabric with another pattern but I really wish I would of thought to add that pop of color. I’m thinking a yellow for my decor would of been the ticket. Oh well maybe next time. Fun quilt!
