Oh you do have a profile...just not one *you* set up....access any website that has use of the fakebook API? (you can tell because it has either the option to sign in with fb or a fb 'like' button) then you have what's called a shadow profile; that follows you around the net collecting data to sell to some random 3rd party

I for one absolutely welcome the return of Myspace. Especially if it's the full on embrace of the late 90's very early 2000's Myspace except with upgraded hardware. Wish I was really alive to see that era at it's finest. What I mean by alive is old enough to remember and take part in it. Yes, I was born in 1999 so I would technically be alive in that era. But that era kinda came to an end before I really was old enough to remember and take part of it.

Remember to use a browser or extension that blocks those facebook comment sections all across the internet. You can still be fingerprinted through your internet traffic for the purposes of advertising or whatever the heck other uses they want your data for.

Ultimately Facebook is a social media platform, their business model is based on being a good platform, their edge was the technical capabilities of the site (way waaaay back in the day) but that's well and truly defunct now, everything Facebook does is pretty basic at this point. The other side of being a good platform is simply being a good service provider and this is where it's falling apart, they're constantly doing shitty social experiments and their data security is a bad joke. At this point they're getting by on brand recognition and inertia, both of which are running out.
