In the beginning you mentioned the A6 Etron launch? Is there a date when this will happen? Or do you know when we can expect the the first driving impressions? I’m really looking forward to this one! Anyway, really nice range test, but I’m a bit disappointed that the taycan wasn’t that much better (from an efficiency point of view) than a Q6 Etron

i think this car with smaller wheels won't be as noisy and way more efficient, but I doubt Porsche buyers care about efficiency. And honestly the RWD makes more sense for people who do not live up north. I really wonder how much more efficient the RWD is.

I’m owed by this new Taycan. Mine is the 2021 RWD with battery performance plus and I can only got 310km. Mine also have the 21” wheels which doesn’t help 😅

Few days ago i made a testdrive in a Macan and a two year old Taycan RWD. I agree with you, the Taycan feels much more special and I prefer it over the very good Macan. There was only one huge negative point of the Taycan, namely the engine/gearbox noice. I was really negatively surprised by this sound. My current BMW I4 is quiet. Are there more people with this experience? For now this noise is a dealbreaker for me.

I also have i4 and I'm gonna test Taycan. But I expect, that apart of good steering feeling the noise will be distracting...

@@tomkaidl test it first... it's not just the steering feel, it's how the whole car feels. Suspension, body, steering, brakes, throttle, etc... it is just an unmatched experience!

Macan is not the SUV equivalent to Taycan. Perhaps the Cayenne EV will be? But laws of physics still apply. Personally I like ease of access of a SUV and the view out.

Depreciation is high, but not higher than in any other luxury sedan such as Mercedes S - class, BMW 7 series or Audi A 8. 30 % after 1 Year and 50 % after 2 years.

The battery does not last long with too many fast charging sessions. And the car is too expensive for this use of the battery.

On what basis do you say this? Recent studies show that much cheaper EVs with "worse" battery chemistry have as much as 80-85% remaining capacity after only DC fast charging over 200 000km. A lot of the cost of Taycan is in the "quality" of the battery. Furthermore, at 800V charging at a C-rating of 3 is the same as a C-rating of 1,5 at 400V. In other words, charging 320kW with a 105kWh (gross) battery is equal to charging at 160kW with the same size battery at 150V. Charging speed reduced dramatically at 80%, to keep the battery safe and healthy. I'd recommend to read up on batteries and how they work :)

I have a 2020 Taycan 4S Performance Battery+ with 143,000 km (89k miles) with 62% of my charging with DC fast chargers. I’m still able to charge at a peak of 163 kW and the car is at 90% battery state of health according to an OBD scan. I still get about 250 miles of range at 75 to 80 miles an hour on a flat road with reasonable weather. I run 20” wheels. I completely agree with Kris, I have not found another car that I would rather drive.

@@Astke efficiency usually trumps charging speed. You add more miles in same time. Lucid and Tesla are close to 5 miles per KW. Taycan is like 3. Miles. They are compensating with bigger batteries instead of getting more efficient.

@@babnu They are getting more efficient. Do notice. The Taycan Kris is using has 265 in front, 305 in rear wide tyres.... That is insanely wide. For reference model S has 255 in front, 275 or 285 in rear. that alone can give quite a difference in efficiency. I remember Bjorn Nyland testing the old Taycan 4s with 19 inch wheels, 225 front, 275 back and it got very good efficiency. Also you are just saying things now. No way a Taycan 4s will get 3 miles per kwh in the same conditions where the Lucid or Tesla get 5... In CarWow's group range test a Taycan got 3.8 miles per kwh where a model 3 got 4.7 in same conditions. And that is a model 3. Way smaller and lighter with skinnier tyres. When we round them up it would be 4 vs 5 miles/kWh... not 3 vs 5....
