The scintilator is a good machine. All machines have things that you wish you could change a little, but you have to live with them. You probably can tell I like Facetrons better than the others.
This was just a little video I put together for a friend who lives on the other side of the states. I do teach faceting in my little shop. I have 7 stations, all Facetrons. I think they are the simpest faceting machine to learn on. I have a sample of 8 other machines to compare with. Your best option would be to get into a rock club to start with. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your comment. In responce to your question about the stop indicator, It is built into the Facetron. The newer ones work better than the old ones. The dial indicator on the machine in the video is one I made for an older machine. You would have to be a machinest to accomplish this. Good luck on your gem cutting

hi, what's the difference between the Facetron machines and the Ultratec? Why is the ultratec so much more expensive? Do they have tools and other features that make doing certain tasks much easier?
Hi I have a Faction the model in the video without the extra stuff on it. I am trying to learn how to use it. My bf is a glass artist an we are wanting to use I for some art pieces. Do you have more videos on using this machine an the pieces to it an the processes used with the machine?
