In this scene Chloe is doing an impression of Al Pacino as Scarface, and Pacino makes that expression in the movie. So the 2022 version is more appropriate.
I am replaying this one. I agree with you. Feels like they ruined the remaster. Good thing there is no free update for current owners cause I still have the original 2015 version.
@@vlinnstone6919 as if the 2022 one is any better 😭 seriously the og animations were stiff as fuck but they were decent (and yes there are subtle "expressions" like eyebrow movement) the 2022 one is stiffer somehow
to be fair, the remaster should've just been hair textures lol the hair is amazing on them on the 2022 one, not chunky like they haven't taken showers in years
This has been my number one complaint about the remaster! Max is so pretty, but you'd never know from the remaster because she doesn't look like herself
Yall were probably the same people that were outraged to learn women actually have hair all over (even on their faces) when Horizon Forbidden West came out! 😂
This is like one of those "Cranking up facial animations by 400%" videos. They're opening their eyes and emoting way too much lmao. The OG expressions are subtle and sooo much more natural. Honestly, all they needed to do was improve the lipsyncing and eyetracking.
the quality is better, but the facial expressions are not matching the original... and it changes your perception of the character. In a game where you interact with different characters and make decisions based on that, it matters a lot
exactly, in what world would victoria ever make such a vulnerable expression in front of max like in the 2022 version??? it looks so bad and out of character. at least in the 2015 game she looked subdued but indignant, because we know she's prideful and defensive. but in the 2022 version she looks like she's about to cry and wants to ask for a hug. that's not who victoria is, as a character. it just throws her whole characterization and vibe off.
Looks like the classic case of uncanny valley, the 2022 tries to look more detailed and realistic but precisely because of that looks creepier than the plushy almost clay-like animations of the original. I haven't played the remake but hopefully they fixed some performance issues and updated it to run more smoothly on new systems, but graphics should have stayed right were they were in my opinion
The original had a unique and iconic look that the remaster doesn't capture as well. The facial expressions in the 2022 version feel too exaggerated and unnatural.
Max doesn't look like herself in the remastered version imo. the 2015 version captures everyone's emotions perfectly. the remastered version just looks awkward
The game didnt need a remaster at all. In fact, Victorias eyes were better in 2015, she still looked like she wasnt done insulting you. Vrs. 2022 where she looks like she outright forgives you, because the pool/party she still has a bit of an attitude with you. The remaster just doesnt sell it like the original
i'm gonna finish what some other guy said "To be honest, this didnt need a remaster. Theyre trying to fix something that isn't broken" instead of trying to "fix" it they actually broke it when it was already good
I feel like they didn't saw the things, that actually should have been fixed. Like the Hair, that isn't moving at all. Or the water in the Pool that is pretty much non-existent. Or that the characters can't look into somebodys eyes without looking very creepy or starring into a completely different direction. Or that the background Details are so blurry sometimes, that you can't recognize them😂 (Love the game though)
I think the remastered version has nailed the hair, skin and clothing. The colours are more toned down. However the facial expressions for me are better in the original. They are more genuine and natural.
The original’s stiffness made it feel very artistic somehow. It’s like witnessing the characters in a storybook, outside our reality & not fully knowing what they’re feeling. I think “low quality” graphics should b used more often. It’s like how some games in pixel or from the ps2 still hold up artistically.
@@supersoldier777 The facial expressions don't even match up with their tone of voice. The animation still looks stiff and frightening to my eyes, The texture sucks and there was no thought put into this remaster at all. I honestly like the OG version better. Though everything isn't as perfect it's still good.
