HIDING... you spoke about “hiding” in a way that reminded me a beautiful poem by one of my favorites, David Whyte. I think most of your audience would be as blown away as I was when I came across this man’s work. He echoes many of the sentiments taught here by Matt and his ability to put these ideas into words is second only to his eloquence. Here is the poem called “Hiding”: “Hiding” - David Whyte HIDING is a way of staying alive. Hiding is a way of holding ourselves until we are ready to come into the light. Even hiding the truth from ourselves can be a way to come to what we need in our own necessary time. Hiding is one of the brilliant and virtuoso practices of almost every part of the natural world: the protective quiet of an icy northern landscape, the held bud of a future summer rose, the snow bound internal pulse of the hibernating bear. Hiding is underestimated. We are hidden by life in our mother’s womb until we grow and ready ourselves for our first appearance in the lighted world; to appear too early in that world is to find ourselves with the immediate necessity for outside intensive care. Hiding done properly is the internal faithful promise for a proper future emergence, as embryos, as children or even as emerging adults in retreat from the names that have caught us and imprisoned us, often in ways where we have been too easily seen and too easily named. Hiding is a bid for independence, from others, from mistaken ideas we have about our selves, from an oppressive and mistaken wish to keep us completely safe, completely ministered to, and therefore completely managed. Hiding is creative, necessary and beautifully subversive of outside interference and control. Hiding leaves life to itself, to become more of itself. So my older sister my mom are devout Christians and swear by the Bible ..my younger sister swears by the JW Bible bc it has not been rewritten for 200 years. I have never seen the light emitted from any of them. They all swear that I have spent my 61 years not loving myself and not loving the God of their choosing. I thank the Universe for my ganster life in search of the truth and finally realize my ego did the best it could do to keep me focused on the prize. Thanks, Matt, for saying the negative thoughts aren't "mine," that I'm actually tapping into the negative thoughts in the field around me. This helps me feel not quite so thrown off/distressed with Covid-19, which sure provides us humans with plenty of uncertainty. Default leads to fear, which is the last thing we need for our immune systems. We need to stay the course with prudence and a ton of patience. May we all be wiser, stronger and more open-hearted as a result of this challenge.

Matt Kahn has brought great wisdom forth in his messages. I do believe we have the power to parent our thoughts. And we create wired patterns in our brain when we continually think in habitual ways, for example when people complain a lot it is a negative pattern that forms in the brain, and it creates more negativity. When I find myself in a challenging situation I may fire off a negative thought but then I have the power to give more energy to that negative thought or change the trajectory, i will often say okay can I find the blessing in this situation, and/or find the grace to accept what is happening in the present moment, and face uncertainty in a space of gratitude. Negativity can become a cancer when out of balance, it is the neutral mind that must consider both negative and positive without emotional attachment, without having an identity in it. 🙏💜
