@@cliffcares6455 yes it went smooth running the wires out and threw the new bars took a little time didn’t want to strip any wires

Did you come across an issue with the amount of slack you had on your controls? I have my wires ran but I can’t clip the control system around the bar due to not enough slack. Any tips??

I’ve heard someone makes extensions. Believe it makes the self adjuster longer.

@@cliffcares6455 wait---SELF adjuster? I'm gonna have to look at this, I read the manual as a last resort lol. I'm just coming up on 1K service gonna have to look at this one---over a beer

I did have to remove these tabs for my last bars but not with the Factory 47 bars. They had the holes for them. I did finally get the Harley extended clutch cable and ran it the same as the OEM cable.

Do you think it would be an issue still with the bars an inch shorter?

@@justinmarriott605 knowing what I know now I wish I had gotten the factory 47 12 inch bars instead of these 14s. I had a 2017 and put 14s on them and had no problem getting the clutch or front brake to fit. But this year has been a nightmare for me. I called the harley dealership and they told me previously the rule of thumb has been no more than 16 inch bars or else you will have to reroute or extend the cables. Well this year it's now no more than 12 inch according to them. It's frustrating the nickel and dime that harley makes us go through to accomplish something as simple as putting bars on

@@justinmarriott605 lmao naw man go thru and get them done I know they're gonna look great when your done. I just got done working on mine for 2 hours and after a lot of choice words I'm coming off of a failed attempt lol. But that's why we do this it's all part of the game. Even though mine are 14s there is a way to get this done so don't let me discourage you from doing it. You got this. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I'm gonna wake up tomorrow morning and work on it til I get it right

@@donaldfitchett9666 well… i gave it a shot… everything bolts in place, but hard bends at both perches. it’s doable, but to me just feels sketchy

There was enough brake cable but if I went with 16”. Might have to get a longer cable.

I didn’t see anything saying that. Only issues I had was the throttle was sticking. I thought the powder coating was a little thick. So I sanded it down some. Works fine now. Throttle snaps back.

This way was a lot easier then what I used on my last bars. I used para cord. Lol. Look up expandable braided sleeving.

Thanks. I got it from Amazon. Not sure which video I got it from but it was easier then the last set of bars I did. Why should I edit that out? I’ve seen it done on other videos. My last bars didn’t have a hole for it. So had to knock it down and these bars the hole was on the wrong side.

@@cliffcares6455 No I didnt mean you should edit that out of your Vid the Vid was great--I meant I edited my post to tell you about my 16 pin. Yea instead a knocking it down, which honestly I never even thought of, I just pulled it. LOL either way we both got the pin outta the damn way!

Stock throttle cable is plenty long

Yes but it's a lot easier then the old way. Having to use 2 wrenches. Only need a small screw driver to pull the clip out. Than its spring load and takes the slack out of the cable. Then push the clip back in to hold the adjustment.

I did LA Chopper 12s and it fit fine inthe stock route, I did cut all teh zip ties though...some are hard to find....

I don’t think it’s factory. The dealer swapped the stock 114 with a 131 crate engine. And that’s what the dealer put on the new engine. Wanting to put a different filter on. The same shape but the center is filter instead of a cover. Want to get more air in.

Was able to use the stock cable without using an extension.

The wires reach but one has maybe 2” lol.

Yes I did. Had to remove the upper cable from the adjuster. Remove the cable. Then rerouted. I showed where I rerouted in the video. Skip to 23:50 in the video.

@@jessebaker462 my bad. You cut the zip tie holding the brake hose? It’s behind the instrument cluster.

Hope that help. Try pushing down on the lock while turning. That helps sometimes.

@@Walt450 I put 14” bars on and the brake cable reaches but will either need to re-route or get a longer clutch cable.

Someone told me about them. I was waiting to see if H-D was going to get any in first. Was about to get one a few weeks ago from H-D.

I used the same extension. Worked perfect.

It took me an hour and a half. Thats fishing the wires thru the bars. You definitely need patience..
