Air riveter harbor freight. And yes you should be using caulking. Run a piece of tape along the seam. Then when it oozes out after you rivet it you can wipe it along the tape line and then pull the tape it'll be super clean line
Here’s a bit of advice that you may have stumbled across in your research. The manual says to put the back wall in before doing the upper trunk floor. This makes it very difficult to rivet the upper trunk floor when you get to it. The experts on the forums all say to rivet the upper floor in first. Another awesome video. Thank you!
Thank for the heads up. I actually had not stumbled across that yet in my research. That makes sense. I just put the fuel tank in and started running fuel lines so I'm a bit away from that point in the process.
Time-lapse is your friend!! lol It would make that installation footage that much better to watch. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work! I'm really enjoying your videos.
November is the current ship date for new orders. Sounds like the people who order the complete kit are getting preference over the those who ordered the basic kit. And they are not running any specials at all. Which means if you can't find a donor you're going to have to pay full price for everything new and according to a couple of RU-vid videos that could add up to 40 or $50,000 wow!!!!!
Agreed ..these vids are fantastic. Liked the idea with the nitrile gloves. Perhaps a rubbing compound might clean the panels up for you...though i could see by the end of the vid, it was becoming less of an issue!....and its pronounced Aloo -Minnie- Yum in the UK!! ...
I reall enjoy your videos and sorry if I came across as rude. My suggestion is to use something called a cleco which helps hold the sheet metal to structure while you fasten in place. It is used heavily in aerospace industry and very handy when working with thin sheet metal.
I know all about em but I’m trying to do this first one with things you can buy easily at local hardware stores. I figure that’s how most people will be building these.
