Great video, very detailed. Really, an outstanding job. Would you happen to know if this unit will work with a 2023 4Runner utilizing Multi-Terrain Monitoring (4 cameras total)? I looked at their website and the units are dated only up to 2019.
Hahah, yeah it’s a little time consuming but I over explained it just to be sure anyone could follow along. I did do a review video, (2 Month Review | Dasaita 4runner Headunit Problem? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fJ9d4fEpF9A.html) and they actually reached out to me after posting it. They did state to me in an email that they fixed the issues and removed the defective units. Your guess is as good as mine if that’s true, but I really enjoyed the radio until it stopped working… obviously!
Oh awesome! Bummer on the radio presets. I honestly have never listened to the radio with this unit. Does everything else work and come back on when you start the truck? Sometimes if the red and yellow wires are switched, nothing will save. Just a thought. Thanks for watching and happy holidays!
No, I don’t have it anymore after it crapped out on me. I made a 2 month review of it, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fJ9d4fEpF9A.html
I can’t seem to connect the Dasaita 10.25” on to my 2017 4runner limited , some of the harness connections don’t seem to match Can u please help recommend a professional to knock this off , near Dallas Fort-worth area tx
You may have to reach out to Dasaita because there are other harnesses for different models. You may be missing a harness. I had the same issue at first, didn’t know I needed another harness. Unfortunately there are too many shops to recommend one for your area. I do know Best Buy does installs if you haven’t done it yet. Sorry for the lateness. Heard mixed reviews on quality of installs. Hope this helps. Happy holidays!
Great video .... question.... Are you able to adjust your phone ringtone volume? Mine doesn't do it. I got the same unit on my 2010 4R. When my phone rings the ringtone blasts at highest volume. Also, mine doesn't have a split screen option at all. On top of that any USB or SD card I connect to it gets corrupted. Other than that, the unit is cool.
Thanks, I really appreciate it! And yes, it is compatible but I believe it needs an additional adapter. I use my phone for everything so I never needed it.
I installed the same head unit to my 2016 4runner and after installing I don't have my compass on the small screen in between my gauges. I wanted to know if that's normal and you if you experienced that too. Thanks
The radio was pretty good, when it worked. I owned it for 2 months and it stopped working. I may have gotten a dud or a faulty unit, but it’s not longer working. Buyer beware.
Does the factory microphone plug into the unit for use? I see in a few videos, there are comments on the "stuffiness" of the new unit provided microphone and some people disconnect the new microphone. My 22 Limited has a Toyota mic in the overhead and seems to work fine.
Unfortunately the factory microphone only works with the factory unit. This unit has a built in microphone and it comes with an external. I think the built in mic works great but some people have stated it’s muffled in the comments. I just didn’t have issues with mine.
Thanks! Yeah there isn’t any lag when it worked. I owned the radio for 2 months and it stopped working. It was pretty good while it lasted, but buy at your own risk.
So they did reach out and had me troubleshoot, which they sent me a video of a different model radio (they said it was a similar method) but it wouldn’t work. Then they admitted they found an issue with the radio and fixed it and stopped sending out the faulty unit.
@@smitheys I hooked up my GPS using factory gps antenna. All you need is an adapter off of Amazon. Had my unit for 6 months no issues except cant get wireless android auto to work.
I'm struggling with the MCU update. I've checked all my connections and not everything is working smoothly. I assumed MCU needed to be updated but can't find anything online to guide me. Any thoughts?
I’m sorry you’re struggling! I know the pain, haha. I think I may have gotten lucky, or it was already recently updated when I got mine. I do know you need a thumb drive with the update on it, then run the update through the radio and choose said thumb drive. I’ve been surprised by the customer service with Dasaita and they always respond within a good timeframe, here’s there email: office@dasaita.com Hope this helps alittle.
From where/what website did you order your unit? Did you specify anything in particular (nav/sat radio etc...) or were there options you could select???
I ordered it directly from Dasita. www.dasaita.com/products/dasaita-vivid10-toyota-4runner-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-car-stereo-10-25-inch-carplay-android-auto-px6-4g-64g-android10-1280-480-dsp-ahd-radio?_pos=1&_sid=d9319b5e9&_ss=r&variant=40829552492700 The radios are are pretty similar, with the same functions. The only thing they need to know is what you have in there currently and they’ll match what you need. Hope this helps!
No idea. It’ll probably be close, if not identical but I’ve never had a factory nav unit because they’re just not worth it.. Especially entune. Glitchy, maps are outdated and it just doesn’t look good. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
Me personally I would do what I can afford. Those dasiatas are kinda pricey, but if the choice was factory headunit or this… this 100%. I do know people that prefer factory and want nothing else, so if you like the factory go with the factory nav. It’s all personal preference really. They both play sound. Haha.
Darn, that sucks about the internet Joseph! Have you tried connecting to your hotspot or your home internet WI-FI? There’s also an option to get another SIM card from your cellphone provider and add a line to always have service.
@@smitheys yeah ive connected to hotspot however on their website they claim to have satellite gps like the oem unit however thats not the case, they state to buy a cellular sim card to use it but if i dont have cell service i wont have gps. im thinking about returning it if i can or selling it second hand and getting the new t10 knobless, double the price but i need the carplay. im also going for wired carplay next, wireless has so many issues.
Absolutely, Beav! There is a setting that you can turn on to automatically load when the car turns on. Just turn on that feature and set zLink to load on startup.
You may have purchased the wrong harness. Dasaita has a lot of different harnesses for different models, especially with factory upgraded systems. Contact Dasaita and explain, they’ll help you out. Most of the time they’ll send the new harness and ask for the other one back, but I can’t speak for them. Sorry that happened to you.
If it requires internet, it’ll need to be connected to WI-FI. You can hotspot it from your phone or install a SIM card to it with your cell phone provider by adding a line.
They reached out and had me try to troubleshoot, then they admitted they found a problem with the unit. They also stated that they fixed the problem and stopped shipping the faulty units.
Thanks! I was very happy up until recently. I was thinking of doing another review on longevity and function but my screen went out after 2 months yesterday. Dasita had very excellent customer service when I was purchasing and I just reached out to them yesterday to see if I got a defective unit or if they just fail but with the holidays I’m not expecting the fastest response. The music and functions still are working, the screen is just black. It might possibly be the cold too? I was in the negatives the last few days. I’ll let you know what happens.
@@smitheys so did you get the issues resolved? I am so ready to get a new head unit but don't have the time to deal with poor quality control of whichever system I purchase.
I wish I could say they were, but no. They did email back only to ask what happened even though I explained the issues in the initial email then lost them again.
