I found Eastward boats through your youtube videos! I visited the factory, -got to see your boat, and told Rip that your boat videos is how I found the company. We played your first video together, it was the first time he saw it. RIP was a great host. Took me out on one of the roughest days you could imagine. The boat truly is in a class by itself, -I stood dry when on the move, no pounding at all, and when we stopped and drifted in a really windy chop the boat didnt move, I felt like I was on the Staten Island Ferry... Working on getting mine made with RIP now and your great content is how I got to Eastward. Im going with a cooler slide seat in the cockpit instead of the stationary box you are building for more cockpit space but other then that very similar builds... Same motors!
I know how exiting it is to get a "new" to you boat, can't imagine how exciting it must be to buy a new boat, let alone a custom boat like this. Congratulations and I wish you the best of luck with her.
Great Vid. I read Dave was no longer involved and you confirmed it. Hearing the story set my mind at ease. I always get nervous when ownership changes. Hopefully Rip's plans come to fruition. Can't wait to see yours done and in use. I fish the same way you do so I'm exciting to see real world performance and use!!!!! Thanks for the content.
I knew this was going to be good. I'm pretty amazed by boat builders and their craft. So, they won't be installing electronics? Means you have a guy in New York that will install? Great video.
Awesome video John, I can't wait for a video of you picking up the boat and you riding on it for the first time. Those are great boats, I almost put a down-payment on 30feet when they first started building them. Now it is a looong wait to get one. Oh well. 🙂👍
John your eastward is a nice boat , it's like a worktruck. All business no frills . Hopefully Eastward has done away with all the plastic hatches. They build great boats there's no reason for cheap plastic hatches on a tuff quality boat.
Can’t wait to see the finish! Been eyeing Cats lately - thoughts on what are good affordable 24-28’ options? Worldcat comes to mind but I know very little about them.
Just me thinking if you partner with someone to get the custom propellers and test them it could be even more efficient than 3mpg giving a reasonable payback and a lower fuel bill. Also according to Boat Test the Sharrow propellers have less turbulence and so the trolling results could be better while maneuvering is increased as well. It’s my opinion only just thought you were looking for breakthrough technology for a fishing boat. Cheers and I like your channel.
Pretty exciting to be able to go and see your boat in the process of being made. You were a bit speechless once you boarded your vessel? That is one hell of a quality boat. Do you plan on naming your boat, if you are? What is the name?
Those preliminary performance #s are insane. What’s the approx weight fully rigged on the 24’? I saw on THT a walk around and pilot house. That would make a great NE boat!
@@duffmeister6480 Yamaha is all naturally aspirated as well. I believe Merc is the only manufacturer that has forced induction engines. All things being equal, naturally aspirated will be much more relaible
Congratulations on the new boat. Our local Edgewater and Cobia dealer on the North Fork has plenty of current stock. Port of Egypt has plenty of Grady's in stock. See out of the Peconic. # Seahuntgf27
As soon as he said the hull design was 50 years old I stopped watching. Ask yourself how a hull that's even 20 years old designed on a white board can compete with a modern CAD designed hull with fluid dynamics software and a naval architect?
