My 1989 Ruger M77 .243 shoots .33 MOA at 100 yards with Barnes ttsx 80 grain. And sub MOA with factory 100 grain super X. Cost me 350 bucks in 2012. I'll never sell it.

I can't look at a factory now after my first custom build.

That was a pretty good video. I have been assembling all my rifles and helping others assemble theirs since bush was president and even do it over FaceTime. Being an engineer I have found so many awesome combinations of great parts that work together. A guy can put a rifle together that shoots sub half minute all day long with factory ammo. Also if you know how to solve problems you don’t need a warranty. Your barrel experience is exactly what mine is. I think there are a lot of very good machine shops holding very tight tolerance standards because nobody wants product coming back. What I like to see for accuracy is a 10-15 shot sub half minute groups at 100 yards. 5 shot groups really doesn’t test a barrel’s ability to hold accuracy with a little heat build up. A barrel is still cold after 5 shots. There is always more than one way to skin a cat and there is more ways to get great accuracy from assembling rifles and I guess it’s how wise a person is and if you have confidence in your abilities.

A custom built rig is cool if you have the cash. However with so many good guns that are a barrel away it's hard to justify a full custom. Even triggers are not necessarily needed unless you want something stupid light. Lots of good factory triggers. For most guys a 2-3lb is more than sufficient.

What is the name of the rifles he builds?

I think he primarily builds of Curtis actions, but ultimately he can build with any action. Also I think he has his own action designed,
