@Sonicguru Here are some theories and ideas. Memory Loss : There might be a medical condition as Shadow seems very amnesiac in some games. Perfect Chaos : Near the climax of Sonic Adventure, Tikal planned to seal Perfect Chaos, but Sonic pointed out the flaws stating that Chaos would still be trapped with anger. How could Sonic relate to Chaos' situation? Maybe at one point, Sonic consumed the negative energy becoming Dark Sonic then brought destruction upon the world - Fleetway style. When he finally came to his senses, Sonic regretted his actions. Sonic saw himself in Perfect Chaos so he used positive energy becoming Super Sonic to help the Chao. Cream's Dad : Feel The Rabbit was a prototype that eventually became Sonic The Hedgehog. Despite that fact, he was very well known and appreciated among fans who wondered if Feel could ever become canon to the Sonic series. Interestingly when Cream The Rabbit made her debut in Sonic Advance 2, the fans noticed how Cream seemed very similar to Feel and when her own mother Vanilla was introduced, there were many speculations about the two characters. Vanilla didn't have any special abilities like Cream who the fans believed she must have inherited those gifts from her father who the fans assumed would eventually appear in the series. But the father was never referenced or at least acknowledged. As Cream's unknown father was never established, the fans theorised that Feel was indeed Vanilla's husband who died when Cream was very young, thus the reasons why she didn't remember him and why Vanilla never mentioned him at all as she didn't want Cream to be sad and why Feel will never appear in the Sonic games. There are so many questions about Feel and his possible family connection to Vanilla and Cream that remain to this day unresolved. Best Frenemies : Knuckles and Shadow are best known as Sonic's rivals. But Jet is a curious case as he seems to know Sonic well than anyone. Not much is said about Sonic's past, but he and Jet had a history. Long ago, Sonic lived in an orphanage where he met Jet, Wave and Storm. They became the Babylon Rogues - riding on hoverboards, stealing and causing commotion. Both having massive egos, Sonic and Jet would clash. But one day, the Babylon Rogues' heist went wrong. Chased by the law, Sonic broke through the fence but Jet got stuck. From behind, Wave and Storm struggled to free Jet who pled for Sonic's help. But Sonic ran off, leaving the Babylon Rogues to their fate. On the run, Sonic was caught by Dr. Eggman's trap and was imprisoned in a labyrinth where he met Mighty and Ray. While escaping, Sonic learnt friendship and teamwork. Now free, Sonic vowed to be a better hedgehog but left unresolved issues as Jet hadn't forgotten about the betrayal. Jet dedicated his life to get back at Sonic one way or another.

The comics can reference the games all they want, but until the GAMES reference IT, it's not canon.

@@DaveMan1K I mean, transmedia storytelling IS a thing. Plus, Tangle & Whisper already showed up in Dash & Forces Speed Battle.

@@ThePreciseClimber IDW already has too many inconsistencies with the games that it would be a nightmare to try and make sense of it. Frontiers pretty much confirms that none of it happened in-universe. IDW takes place after Forces, but dialogue from Tails in Frontiers solidifies that the last major event was Forces; not the restoration, not Mr Tinker, not the metal virus, not scrapnik island, nothing. Tangle's namedrop (which is completely missable) just says that there is a Tangle the Lemur in the game universe somewhere. Plus Sticks is also namedropped (in an unskippable cutscene), and she isn't even in IDW.
