Fading Down! Barber Tutorial 

I like to seeing a difference in odd or different hair and hair lines compared to the ordinary ones I see. I’ve been learning a lot from y’all “Tomb 45” so showing this helped me out thanks

This is for Chris and the Pastor and for anyone else that relates: As long as what you are doing does not take away God's time, do it. Besides being a good barber, for those who do not know it. This man has the most difficult job and with the greatest responsibility in the world, to take care of those that God put in his hands. It motivates me to see this because I also have a call from God but I also wanted to fulfill my dream of being a barber and I haven't been active at all at Church lately. This is the way my school teaches and they don’t really touch on fades. But top to bottom I appreciate this.

I watched S Craft Blends based on your recommendation and was able to view a few of his videos.... I really dig his style, hoping to see some current content.... **** I ended up following him as well, which I don’t always do....

I fade top down. I think the most important part is envisioning the haircut before you cut. If you can train yourself to fade top to bottom you WILL never have lines. I can finish a fade in 15 minutes with a straight razor shave around the ears and neck. It all comes down to fading top to bottom and envisioning the cut before the fist swap of your clippers !!

I prefer to fade down from #4 to #1, then fade up from bald into the #1.

I did a self-cut burst fad the other day, and decided to fade down. I be getting lost when I do that. It came out good, but I think it took me longer than usual.

Prefer fading down coz it prevents the fade going to high

I was struggling fading till I tried this method

I'm asian and in my opinion when I cut and fade my pointy hair it's so easy to make a mistake that I found out it's best to fade my hair down.

Chris, I wouldn't recommend shooting at f1.8 or lower for doing a haircut video unless you doing close up shots. That depth of field is too shallow making it's too blurry especially since you guys are shooting handheld in this video. F3.5 or f4 would work better you'll pick up so much more detail. Lighting is key but balanced lighting is the key for hair videos for both the camera to pick up the details and shadows correctly and for the barber to see things good. You cant be doing a 3 point lighting setup on these because it would make shadows so, I agree, barbers need to learn about lighting. Don't think because you have a ring light you good, that helps but u need alot more than one ring light to make good quality hair videos.
