It’s like they copied most things from Disney’s newest game, the one that’s free to play. Forgot the name but it’s the one where you farm and meet Disney characters, build and expand your home and areas.
Yeah, I remember playing harvest moon back to nature for the first time and was hooked. Sadly, there werent a lot of farming/life sims back in the 90s/2000s so I'm so happy a lot of indie devs have taken up the mantle.
By the way: Rune Factory did this already ages ago showing the characters on the map. This game really looks great and like a lots of fun, but totally overprized.
Wasn’t interested in it at first but seeing the multiple levelled dungeons peaked my interest. I like that you guys showed the single player gameplay too.
Total side note. From the visuals I see that the menus are reverse contrasted. Excellent decision. I can’t tell you how often I wish I could reverse blacks and whites in games. It makes so much sense. I’m legally blind with about 2% vision left and law school to tackle in my off time, so I am very picky about the games I get. This one is defenitley top of my list!
I'm so glad y'all got early access to this. Me and a few friends have been eyeing this one for a while and I'm so thrilled to see it's shaping up to be everything we hoped it would be.
There's a lot of cosy farming games coming out in September, Paleo Pine and Mineoko night market(more crafting and selling). I have an eye on Fae farm but put off by steep price. My time at Sandrock due to come to Switch. Spolit for choice. I might wait on sale, I really like the aesthetics. On trailers, I had impression it looked like forced multiplayer but I prefer to go solo due bad experience on MMos but I do enjoy playing with friends. I was going to get Paleo Pines or Fantasy Life: Girl who steal time.
I genuinely cannot wait for this one. I love the fact that it has dungeons… Harvestella was supposed to fill that void for me and while I finished it and liked it, I’m excited to find one that I love. I really need Dinkum to come to console because it’s the only other one like this that I really want to play and while I have a PC, the only time I ever have to game is late at night and I want to play handheld in bed.
Thank you for this quick review. At first I thought this had a very Disney look and seemed to be more of a kid's game. However, now that I've seen longer and detailed gameplay I'm definitely more into it. It has a very Rune Factory/Stardew Valley feel to it. I'll be sure to get this now and look forward to playing it.
I saw this game in the eshop yesterday and wishlisted it just because of the fairy theme (there are surprisingly few games where you can be a fairy), glad to see that it seems to be a good game so far
To be honest I wasn't too excited about Fae Farm, mostly due to the character models and faces which I didn't really like the style of. So many farming sims use chibi-like character models that make the characters seem like children, and I wish more of them would use more adult-looking models. But after watching this review, I'm pretty excited! The movement looks so smooth, the sound effects are great, and the gameplay stuff you mentioned seems pretty interesting too. Looking forward to the full review :)
I'm really looking forward to this game. It looks so charming and I really like the animation style and the whimsical sound. Thank you for giving us a closer look at it.
Thank you for the in-depth preview of the game, Switchup! I laughed out loud when the cows completely ignored the fences and got their behinds stuck at 6:12 🤣I was shocked to see the price tag on the eShop though... When converting my country's currency into USD, it comes to a whopping 87$. I will be patiently waiting for a sale before getting it 🥲
With all the farming sims out there these days, I still feel like Story of Seasons did planting the best. You till a patch of ground, and it's presized to a 3x3 square. You use one unit of seeds, and it fills the whole thing, giving you 9 individual crops. You water and harvest the entire patch all at once. So much more efficient and simple.
Looks promising. But I hope there’s a setting to adjust how time works in the game. Right now it’s one second IRL = one min in game which is faster than other similar games (except acnh). It’s not cozy if I have to constantly worry about how much time I have left in a day.
I almost never buy any new games but I never miss these videos. There's something comforting about a British dude gently talking to me about Switch games
This game looks really fun. That being said, I don't think throwing a message in a bottle into the ocean to invite people to the island is a good idea. That's how you accidentally invite a psychopath the island.
I’m so looking forward to this. Will definitely check your review out when it comes. I want the physical but not sure when that is coming. I’ve preordered Story of Seasons It’s a Wonderful Life in the meantime. To scratch that cozy farm sim itch.
was really excited for this one because they made it sound like you could start a town online with friends, the thing that animal crossing missed out on. But if thats not the case + the game is 60 euros, which i really didnt expect, im probably never getting it.
I'm genuinely excited for this game! I think my only complaint is the fact that there's only one weapon type: the wand. For a game with rpg elements, I feel like there should be more choices for weapons to make every playthrough/playstyle unique. The devs could implement enchanted swords and arrows, as well as staves. Hopefully the game adds those in at some point, but if not, then it wouldn't be the end of the world ofc lol
I had my eye on this game ever since we first saw it during Direct. Then I was a bit sad that there was no update about its release which was initially set for Spring 2023. I'm glad you say it runs fine because the footage you have seems to stutter quite often for some reason. I'll definitely wait for full review before the game releases in September!
I have been following this one for a while. Unfortunately their decision to price it at $60 locks me out of playing it. I am on disability and simply can't afford it. I always look to indie games to fill the space of affordable gaming but this one let me down honestly.
I was expecting this price. It was originally an Nintendo exclusive and Nintendo games are pricy. AC hasn’t even gone down. I guess you can put a little money in a jar of what you expect to pay for an indie game, if you can budget it amd really want it, and by September have the money to buy it or wait till it goes on sell - whenever that will be. Good luck
@@charlottesantos4199no, do not compare. This is an INDIE game. Nintendo games never go down because they have aka loyal fans who will buy no matter what, however for an indie this is a deal breaker for many and it makes sense
@@Girldont-ib6vw Nintendo games go on sale all the time, only their best sellers don’t. This game was originally a Nintendo exclusive so that is way the price is so high, ,many other games that are Indy are not priced so high. Now that this game is also on Steam and still the same price is Nintendo is what making people upset. We all know that Steam games are cheaper then Nintendo.
I had a great feeling about this game when I first saw it. You just confirmed it! Excellent! The only thing I hope is that you can reach end game without building up a relationship. I love these types of games but don't care too much about relationship part of it. Either way I am very excited about the game. Can't wait!
Getting an OLED switch in a couple days! As someone that grew up playing Call of Duty and other more hardcore games, I can't wait to get my switch and play games like this! I'm getting to old to be playing hardcore games.
There's so many games like this, but I'm excited for this one because of the aesthetics, character designs and character creation. So many farming/life sim games ignore a robust character customization and I have no idea why. We're going to be staring at our avatar for (possibly) hundreds of hours. Why not let us make them look exactly how we want with a wide variety of options besides just a handful of hairstyles and a few eye color options? Plus the townspeople all look different too which just makes wanting to meet up with them and spend time with all the more appealing. If the combat is fun and they fix the precision of the farming, I can see myself sinking hours into this just because it's a joy to look at.
We need another game like Toontown. It was an early 00’s MMORPG for kids, but it was so good that young adults played it too. The game had multiple hub worlds themed after Main line Disney Characters (Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald) with their own streets to fight robots in turn based rpg style with other players around the world. Some of these fights were based off tasks given to you to level up your character. When you were done fighting, you got to go back to any of the hub worlds and play minigames with friends online to earn jellybeans (Toontown currency). This currency was used to buy clothes for your character, furniture for your home, a pet. When you got home you could invite your friends and show off your estate and your home.
Yoooo it looks great. It ain't even the kind of look I love the most, but the mechanics seem to be really on point here. Also good Sound effects are such an important thing to a game. If I will have to hear it 1000 times, it has to be damn good.
Really looking forward to this one. My only issue is sadly the devs have focused their resources on this game leaving their other title (Dauntless) without much attention. Being an mmo of sorts, they might have lost alot of the player base. But still... This looks great.
I put in some extra shifts at work last week to be able to buy this game and I'm so excited about it!! Been waiting on it since it first announced and i can't wait!!
I’m one of the few weirdos that really likes relationships in these games. Just wondering if all characters are romanceable or if they’re restricted?😅 Super appreciate the review guys, thank you!
This game has CHARM! It is quite similar to HM/SoS but with a fantasy element. The expressions on the faces are adorable. I love the look of the dungeons. I actually am really excited to try this game!
I typically don't go for games with this type of cutesy, 3d art style - it reminds of soulless, modern kids shows. But this looks very beautiful and so charming, I also love the use of colors! I really hope the gameplay will be equally as charming and compelling.
Yall always find such great games. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to the one that comes out after release. Probably will be grabbing this one for sure.
THIS GAME IS SO COMPACT AND INTUITIVE I LOVE the bouncing mushroom travel! not like coral island you run for HOURS ON END in a super spaced out empty world with sprinkled areas of interest that if you add up the hours per day you did mostly 12hours or running which is the MAIN CAUSE OF BOREDOM!!!
I was pumped for this ever since it was announced last year , and was going to buy it but $90 CAD price tag is a huge turn off. Will wait for sale i guess.
The games we’re getting this year are chefs kiss & I’ve always loved games like this👌🏽 this is best year of gaming I’ve had in a while when it comes to back to back releases!
I know I’m an adult, but this game makes me so happy and excited to play! I think it’s my most anticipated game this year. I love that you cdd as n run and jump off of everything. 😍
Wow seems legit actually you think? One specific question if I didn’t catch it: When chopping trees can you just hold the button or do you have to mash it? I’ve noticed this is a big difference for me as far as how relaxing a game is.
Haha wow, ain't heard the word "Bunce" for ages. Proper bit of London slang that. Big up mate... Also, this looks great. Lovely review as always 🤘🏻🤘🏽🤘🏻
It is looking good but not $80 CAD good. Definitely one I'm going to have to wait and hear opinions on first before I even consider buying it. Just way too many other great farming sims out there already for a lot cheaper.
The game looks fun. I don't really care about the fae and wings concept but the gameplay has all your typical farming life sim elements and the movement looks snappy. However, there is no way this game is worth $60. Stardew Valley can be picked up for less than $10 and basically every other farming life sim game out there is usually in the $15-30 range. Even games like Harvestella and Story of Seasons from established devs/pubs which start at $60 drop in prince very quickly. So Fae Farm is going to the wishlist until it hits under $30 for me.
I've not heard about this game until now and it looks like what I've been after for a while. The price is pretty up there but it seems like the gameplay is deserving of it. Though... I just don't trust the Switch anymore for games that aren't first party. I've been burned too many times with low frames and stuttery gameplay. Will probably grab this on Steam.
Man I want to like these kind of games so much, for some reason I loved Stardew Valley but none of them others have kept me engaged, this looks like it could be a contender, I'll see how your full review goes but I'm optimistic
The other hard part about this coming in September is all the other games on other platforms releasing around the same time, might need to keep this one in the back pocket for a lull in the games
It looks good Mark but £50 for simply a download and No voice acting I will wait for a discount I think. What is your opinion on the price point especially with the cost of living right now?
TYVM for this vid. It’s out… I’m watching this to help my decision. $60 is a LOT of money to spend. I think you’ve sold me on this game. The cuteness, colors and content r what’s making my decision. Seems like there is a LOT to this game, so it being $60 might be worth it. I really wish like every game have a demo, I’ve bought games, expensive games, only to find I get so stuck I cannot play it anymore, or the game literally just sucks. Lol this looks REALLLY GREAT. I’m a cozy game person. I played Animal Crossing with its very first release many many yrs ago. I’ve had every Nintendo system put out, including game boy, just so I could play Animal Crossing, but of course ended up buying a lot of games too.
Great to see some diverse NPCs! The person in a wheelchair caught my eye… generally not representative of people with disability but wonderful to see this representation ♿️
I'm a wheelchair user and was also delighted and surprised to see that character! I really liked how the design of their chair fit in with the overall style of the game.
