In a situation like this where someone shot the coyote, do you worry that they may come back and look for your reset? I've started trapping more on public lands and although I use drags, this is a concern of mine. Great videos! Thanks!

Great video Nick sorry that someone shot your all’s coyote. I had that happen to me this year and the coyote was on my own property when they shot it. This is Mark up here in northern West Virginia.

My immediate thought was someone was goofing around, saw a coyote and didn't realize it was in a trap, then snap shot it thinking that they just got themselves a coyote. Sometimes they (the coyote/fox/whatever) try to hide when people approach instead of fight the trap and make it obvious that they're caught. Someone who would purposefully shoot your trapped coyote would likely steal your trap too, but that didn't happen. You could be right that the perps heard you coming and left right before you came into sight, but I suspect otherwise. Can you tell I have accidentally shot someone's trapped critter before, not knowing it was in a trap?

It's a shame folks can't resist ****ing with something that doesn't belong to them. Everyone knows what does and does not belong to them, and should steer clear of things that belong to another.

They likely thought they were doing the right thing putting the dog down. They didn't steal anything, which is rare.

Piss a trapped off if you want but remember we carry guns and trap in the woods , you could turn up missing..
