I just had a hysterectomy in August. When I went for my two week follow up everything went great. I mentioned to my surgeon that, I was having these shooting sharp pains from my belly button to my abdomen. We both figured it was the stitches and the healing. It was very faint. By the time, I got settled at home, this pain amplified like crazy. It got to the point that, I had to go to the ER. They told me, I had a hernia. They took a CT scan with Contrast. That’s when I was diagnosed with a hernia
***QUESTION, PLEASE*** I'm a 64 year old overweight American who cannot afford to repair an Umbilical Hernia in the USA. It seems to be getting worse as I am trying to exercise and lose weight and bulges out of my belly like a have a giant papaya down there! I am on semaglutide and losing weight. My question please, what would is cost out of pocket -- meaning, NO INSURANCE -- to have the Umbilibal Hernia Repair operation with you or perhaps someone else in your country??? Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. :)
Had mine done 6-21-24. It's infected and it's looking like I will have to do mine again, I'm so bummed. I still have 4 more days of taking antibiotics so I'm hoping they kick in but the Dr didn't sound too enthusiastic.
@@mdas5493 Well mine was impromptu. I went 4 a gallbladder removal & during d surgery they found dat I had hernia so they did dat too. About pain, during surgery I felt nothing since I was knocked out 😴, but after d drugs started wearing off I felt a lil bit pain, but they did gave me pain meds to deal wid dat.
@@mdas5493 I just had it done 5 days ago. The first 2 days were rough even with pain medication. The main pain is getting up from bed and lying down. I think because of the damage done to the stomach muscles. I had both sides done at the same time so might have been worse for me. If I wasn’t moving pain was low. I found putting one leg on the bed first then pulling the other one up works the best. Not much pain now.
Thank you doctor. I had a hernia operation 28 years ago at 37. I don't know if it was with mesh or not. For about the last 2 weeks, I've been feeling sporadic twinges and pulls, nothing really painful or constant. No vomiting or nausea at all. It does feel a little different than it used to. I'm not fat and don't smoke. Until I hurt my hamstring, I ran a few times a week. I do a physical job. I don't have any problems with bowel movements, or if so, very little. I wonder if I'm over-worrying. I confess I've been a little hypochondriacal in the past. Any had similar sensations? P.S.--Thanks for not disabling the comments like some have.
@@faisalhashmi9783 Mine eventually resolved. I watched some videos on sports hernia/athletic pubalgia and got some ideas, though a lot of their exercises seemed to complicated for me. I think just plain old uncomplicated leg raises helped me get back to normal. I'm back on my runs. But yes, it did feel a lot my my inquinal hernia did.
2 weeks post op after laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery with mesh. Feeling better but where the large hernia was located ( groin into scrotum) there is a somewhat hard swollen feeling there. Possible fluid retention? Idk. Surgeon says if it doesn’t go away in 2 more weeks gonna need a CT scan. Hope the hernia didn’t come back so soon after surgery.
Dear doctor, can you consider a little bit about my case I have inguinal hernia, since I was child, on 17 years old, I took open surgery, but my doctor said that my tissues at that moment not completely grow up, so it have chance to recurrent few month or year later, it appear again Now I am 30 and I want to fix it. So can I have a pure tissue repair again? because I fully grow up physical already ( by shouldice technique, maybe) Or even can I have open mesh repair? it is because I am so scare to have an anesthesia (sorry for that) and I also don't want mesh inside my abdominal too. Thank you very much for your time to consider about my question, wish you have a good day!
Hello Dr, I had an incisional hernia repair in 2020. I've been working out a lot latley and have been having a lot of gurgling sounds coming from my abdominal area. There's no bulge or anything like that. Can this be a sign of a hernia reccurance?
I had a inquinal hernia proceedure 3 years ago. I have symptoms of hernia repair failure ...Constipation. pain lower abdomin, a bulge half size tennis ball appears when I lay down about 6 Cm above repair. But Symptoms are also similar to Colon cancer. I am due for screening for that. But I still think its Hernia issue
Hello Dr. I am in desperate need of answers. Two years ago I had two blood transfusions due to supposedly a hernia. When I spoke to the surgeon that was going to remove it she said “You will die if I do wrap your esophagus going to your tummy, do you want to be able to ever vomit again or hardly belch. “I told her I did not want that. I didn’t know what to do from her comments. Had a surgery done. I have felt nauseous for two years now. She put four anchors in my stomach and it is excruciating pain. I went back to her. She said they just my digestive system did nothing about it. my question to you is to remove a hernia did she really have to wrap everything up so tight? And also did she had to put all these anchors in. Supposedly, she said that my diaphragm was up pretty high in my body. Before the surgery I had no problems, I’m just trying to get in you perspective of what happened to my body. Thank you for reading this.
Sir you are not available for online consultation on any platform. Kindly give online consultation to far away patients who are of old age so that if they are eligible for surgery then only they visit hyderabad. It is my kind request.
I had open right inguinal hernia surgery five weeks ago, and I have a dull pain in my lower abdomen 3-4" above my incision site. It only hurts when I push on it, but it has me very worried.
Sir .... My mother has a hernia surgery 15 months ago ... Till that time she has a small swelling in navel... No pain , no hard lump, no pus... And she has gone regular checkups too .. and the swelling is usually soft and can be touched without pain.... Is that normal after hernia surgery???? Please reply
I had that surgery “direct inguinal hernia” 14 months ago, I went to the doctor who did the surgery 4 times to check if the pain and the swelling is normal, he told me that it’s completely normal and the surgery was successful, and he gave me anti inflammatory medication and ibuprofen, now it’s swelled even more, very painful and I don’t feel comfortable in any position, it gets worse after every period and I really need an explanation why
What can happen (i have had it) is that a piece or a loop of gut can get stuck in the opening and bloodvessels blocken. Happened to me and the pain was awfull so hard to not detect 😂
