Wow great timing! My girlfriend's exact same one failed on her 04 VR6 GLI and would squeak/ almost knock in the cold on start up and shut down. Good stuff to know.

Just installed CTS Turbo brand motor and transmission mount on my GTI 1.8T over the weekend. Significant improvement from stock! Engine mount was exactly in this video. Car immediately felt better with shifting manual transmission, and felt more planted while driving. It was an extremely easy job. UroTuning will sell you a complete hardware kit for around $35-40 bucks and you will be all set.

Are we getting closer to seeing the R32 come back from the body shop? I ran into you at the Loe & Show festival in PA last summer and you said the body shop was causing all sorts of delays.

Kinda. So the first place kinda left me hanging. had to find a shop to paint it. Im driving up to One Love next week to get the bumper and some other goodies to finish it. Hoping late summer to get her back

Not just that but may end up spanning ur exhaust manifold from the down pipe. I had that happen. Only found out when i will my engine out to do the timing chain.

My mk4 tdi needs motor mounts. Probably going to upgrade to the 034 motorsport 60% durometer street mounts.

Gear changes in my 1.2 TSI are really jerky (especially from 1st to 2nd gear). Is it most likely a gearbox mount or can it be any other engine mount? Your channel is amazing, keep it going 🙏

if it's an engine mount then you'll be able to see it just by revving the motor. If it's the mount causing the poor shift then it will be worn enough to notice extra play when revving the motor with the hood open. Have someone rev the motor & check the play in the mounts based on the movement of the engine. You can also just visually check the mounts without revving the motor. Also check the undercarriage trans mount. If it's transmission or gearbox related then you'll know after checking the mounts.
