Failed the CCSP exam (won't try again) ❌

I tried... I failed... and I'm not trying again. The exam isn't that bad (I've seen worse), but I don't really see the benefits of trying again. I already have the CISSP so honestly I'd rather just move on and study something else. I'll probably move onto ISACA certifications next.

Great Video Cameron! I really respect accuracy and integrity on one's videos. Thank you for steering me in the right direction with the CCSP

Appreciate your hard work and continued updates. It's helped me push to get on the track towards my degree. I'm a bit removed from my last college experience so seeing others doing the program I'm interested in has helped immensely. Wishing you the best of luck brother!

ISC^2 is a different beast when it comes to studying and certs. Not only do you need to know those the knowledge domains, but you also have to think like a manager. They, like WGU, are competency based. They will only just show that you passed it, nothing else. It prevents brain dumps, helps the security of the test, and such. So it makes sense from that perspective. I took CISSP and failed the first time because those management questions. Well the audits also screwed me up as well. I got the notice saying that I'm great on 6 of the 8 domains and went back and studied the 2 that they had me focus on and took it again and passed. But, there's the reason why the CISSP is revered in the industry as far as I can tell.

Took it twice passed second go after I did some AWS certs and Ben Malisow’s training. He wrote the ISC2 study guides and he has a WannaBeACCSP course. If you consider it again I highly recommend.

Took and passed this today, not going to lie...this test SUCKED. I read the the McGraw Hill and Sybex books, used Boson and other questions to prep and STILL feel like it wasn't enough. (I also have a CISSP and AWS SAA.) I personally think the McGraw Hill book is better, the Sybex book was lacking. Tough test but passable.

Can’t believe I watch a 12 minute video of someone who is blaming his failure on the exam and not the fact he doesn’t understand the content.

I think issue is with sybex using Mike & David for everything, I had used sybex books for security+ , sscp and last straw was cysa+. David & Mike books probably using same material over in every book, no fresh material and practice tests were outdated so for ccsp I was going to give their online practice tests a shot thinking may be they are more up to date but after watching your video I decided to go with all in one series, I will see in couple of months how it goes

I had to wait a month and drive all the way to Jersey City (an hour drive) and pay $25 to park to take my CISSP. That said, the entry level CC is available at most centers. I took that as a warmup to CISSP. Next stop for me is CSSLP as I'm doing application security.

Sorry you don't want to retake. Maybe a few years from now. I got my cissp. I was able to get my issmp a year later, but not by studying the isc2 book. The test questions NEVER match the books and are extremely nuanced and are very opinionated. I wanted to get the ccsp but haven't had the time. Maybe someday.

Congrats on the ISSMP! I wasn't as motivated to get the CCSP as I've been with other certifications and it's not the first exam I've failed so it's all good.

With the courses with WGU for instance comp tia pentest. Do you need to take the cert exam to pass the classes in WGU for cyber security?
@CameronEvolved
@CameronEvolved Год назад
Yes. All except for C838 (Managing Cloud Security). You pass an internal exam to pass that course and they'll give you a free voucher to take the CCSP after that.

No. It’s an in house exam with optional voucher.

A few years ago you had to pass the CCSP exam to pass the class, but they switched to an in house exam so it's no longer required. Instead, they'll give you 1 free CCSP voucher after you pass the class.

The way the CCSP is priced, nobody can afford to keep trying more than once! That's ISC2's choice, overpricing things like that. I'm hoping the CCSK works out better - it also has the advantage that it does not expire.

I am sorry for your score. Tbh, I don't like the ISC2 questions format, they are vague, poorly written, and unrelated to the course objectives. I think Comptia exams are on par, more useful, and exam questions are well-written. Moreover, I disagree with you in terms of ISC2 being secretive. I think the only reason they show your performance if you fail the exam is solely for marketing & selling purposes. They are trying to persuade you indirectly to pay for the exam & retake it. However, if you pass the exam they won't get a monetary return by showing you how you performed. I believe their action is unethical but it is what it is. Good luck with your other certifications this year & I believe the hardest will be the PMP.

With just the WGU degree and no experience would employers be likely to hire?
@CameronEvolved
@CameronEvolved Год назад
It'll probably increase your chances of getting a job interview... at least a little. Most of the IT degrees at WGU come with certifications too and both will look great on your resume. That said, security positions are hard to get into with no experience.

These exams are a joke. Its like theyre not really concerned on if your really know the material or not. You basically have to be an expert at test taking and the psychology behind who created the test. You do not necessarily know the material fully. But its all a game and unfortunately if you want to be in the game you have to play by the rules set forth by said game. So not only should you study the material but it seems like you better study the mindset behind the test creators as well. I guess its a good business model to make a lot of money. Thanks for the video. While all that info is still fresh in your mind I think you should go back and take it and turn that L into a win.

CISSP is an exam which not just need knowledge by needs you to "Think like a manager" Me feels like .. .Oh nooo I cannot think like a manager because I failed in CISSP, omg nooo .. Even if I worked as a manager even if I have been deploying security solutions , leading integrations for 10+ years ... i should quit as manager because I failed CISSP. See that college passed out guy he passed the CISSP conditional exam and I failed so he should jump on my assistant Manager seat and in my company everyone knows I don't think like a manager now because of my stupidity to follow process claim reimbursement before I can appear so yes I don't think like a manager!
