There are some things wrong from time to time with "wanting what you want." I think the plaintiff is trying to convey that historically, black people have not had access to certain events so she was trying to create that fantasy. You can't really use Oprah as an example here since she's an exception and not the norm, Oprah is on a level that the majority of the population is not, and that's referring to all races and ethnicities. So using your example, you're kinda confirming the fact that a black person needs to be at the most elite level of society, or in essence do what is impossible for the majority of the world, to have a seat at the table.

If someone has given a place a one star review, I take the time to read it to find out why. It is frustrating when people leave one star reviews without an explanation. You are right. Some organisations do take the time to respond to feedback. Sometimes, there are just genuine misunderstandiungs. I think that if you have issues with a place, then reviewing it is an ideal time to make suggestions and also state what you liked.
