Dismissing a Daughter 

She’s the parent apparently to EVERYONE! What a beautiful young woman. I wish we could get an update on the kids and her .

This case is absolutely disgusting! Hats off to this young lady doing what she has to do providing the best she can for her siblings. Blessings will continue to come her way.

It makes me so sad that she was ashamed to admit she worked at a fast food place. It is such an accomplishment to all that she does in spite of her parents

She is the EXACT person that deserves assistance from the government. Such a shame other people abuse it because people like her actually NEED it. She will be stuck in that situation for a long time. No HS diploma, no college, working at fast food raising her brothers. I hope she get's all the help and assistance she can. A very respectful human being.

Everyone "on the street" saying they would never sue their father, definitely didn't have the horrendous issues this woman has had with hers. He's no father figure, he's worse than a selfish child. So sad.

Wow. He's lucky she didn't bring him to Mathis. He would've torn him a new one, thrown him out, and then probably granted her the pain and suffering as well.

I usually don’t get emotional over these types of things but when she said the 17 yr old was going to college, and said it so proudly, I choked up. God bless this beautiful woman. Her father is a grade A “wasn’t me” loser. The only thing she did wrong was letting him in the apartment.

I started crying when she said the 17 year old is on his way to college because Lord knows how hard it's must've been for her to raise these 3 boys and to be able to put one in college is amazing.

The fact that he kept interrupting, tells me she’s telling the truth 100%. If there was ANY defendant ever to actually hold their hand up & say “yes” to tell the truth, it sounds like her . This woman turned out great , but I hope his 3 boys turned out to be okay men with this man child as a father 😩🥺

I disagree with the judgement on pain and suffering. If being abandoned by your parent and being left to raise their minor children causing you yourself to miss out on your basic childhood education, then after all that, they come back into your life and steal from you isn't pain and suffering, I don't know what would be.

At first, I was uncomfortable with how she kept saying “it was traumatizing”. But then she says her momma left, she’s raising her brothers, her dad acts like a piece of shit and she’s more mature in a court room than he is. Kudos to her. And I hope she keeps thriving in this crazy world she was given!

Judge Millian pissed me off when she said, “That’s not traumatizing, it’s common.” I don’t care how many people do not have a father, it can still be traumatizing. This young woman has done an amazing job staying strong and resilient, I hope that she is doing well.

My heart completely breaks for this girl 😔

This woman deserves every good thing the world has to offer and more. The fact that she turned out so amazing with the kind of childhood she had is beyond commendable. I am in awe. There are no words to describe how wonderful she is.

Just because it’s common to not have a father, doesn’t lessen the fact that it is traumatic. Children need both parents and to not have either on top of having to take the role of being a parent is all in one traumatic! I pray that wherever she & her brothers are now in life that God has blessed them and continues to watch over them.

The father is a complete waste of space, the mother is the same. I hope the young woman can stay strong through the ordeals.

The fact the plaintiff is a young woman that should be in school herself instead of raising her three younger siblings is wild. These parents are a disgrace to society and are in need of a lot of help

This is almost a year old,but I hope the plaintiff has had help and her siblings are doing better. Perhaps, someone who saw this,has reached out to her. I hope she has started college and having a better life.

The immaturity of the defendant is astounding. He’s acting like the 20 year old kid while his daughter is being the adult.

I am employed by a local health dept to work in a school to help students and families and I see this stuff every day. The number of absent parents blows my mind. I pray, as the judge said that someone is helping this young lady. That's my job...I get families the help they need.

What a POS that defendant is. The younger siblings are so blessed and lucky to have an older sister who is wise beyond her years. This is a young woman who I hope is getting all the help she needs(housing, food and financial)

So he has four kids and he leaves them . A few years later he comes back to live with his daughter rent free who is taking care of his other kids . Then he steals his sons Christmas gifts she had worked hard for because she told him not to smoke pot around minor kids ? The audacity

I hope those boys grow up to be successful and recognize how much their big sister contributed to each of their respective lives. She deserves to get thanks back in 100 fold.

A 20 year old woman raising her sibling in Brooklyn, NY took over the household at 17-18 when her crackhead mother walked away! I can't fathom what she has to go through on a daily! God bless her and give her the patient, grace and peace to continue a life of success.

Sometimes the judge can be rude when it comes to people's feelings,just because it's common for dads not to be around doesn't mean it didn't traumatize the plaintiff,mom's can be deadbeats too

The one guy who was asked if he would sue his father for stealing, but said he wouldn't because he took care of him. You are INSANE. Your parents are OBLIGATED to take care of you, or any child they have. It is their job, their duty to make sure their child is safe and taken care. It isn't a privelage, when it is mandatory and you can do jail time for not doing so. Sure, one of their children can be grateful and try to repay their parents in someway, but that isn't something the child is obligated to do, while the parent is the one who decided to have them and bring them into this messed up world. A parent stealing from their child is messed up, and even more so when they didn't even properly care for them in the first place.

This is why I absolutely adore this Judge. She is a shining example to young girls and women out there and should be incredibly proud of herself. As for the beautiful young lady I feel your pain. My parents were both incredibly abusive and non existent. Just yesterday at 40 years old after my third heart attack my father stated that it was best I no longer contact him after I told him what happened to me. I didn't ask him for anything other than love. Sometimes people are simply born rotten and they sadly bring others into the world.

I have watched the people’s court for over 20 years. This is the first time a case made me cry. What a beautiful young woman. Everything she has been through and she said that her brothers were excited to see their dad and she wanted to let them feel that way because that was their dad. So many people never reach the level of maturity this young woman has. She is an amazing woman and I pray she is gifted all of the beautiful karma she deserves. And if you are reading this, you ABSOLUTELY have every right to say it’s your house, your rules!!! Thank you for protecting your brothers. You are a damn good person!!!

The worst of the worst, biggest dead beat dad and family combined. This is just so sad in so many levels. One of the saddest things I have ever seen in my life. After coming back to see his kids this was his time to shine yet his childish ways in court showed his true self, him stating how the daughter should have known and not expect any money from him because he was trying to save money and how he cannot believe she stood so low to accused him stealing, but isn’t stealing from your kids when you can pay rent and you don’t help or pay the space you are living in? Also I did not hear child support was being provided to help out plaintiff raise her siblings, judge was so right with the choice of words for the young lady, hope she gets everything she desires in life.

At first I felt bad that a father would be sued by his own daughter... then I heard she was raising HIS kids/her own siblings and wanted to live with her after 5 years without contact. She is too nice. I would have told him to kick rocks... live under the bridge.

Just because it's "common" without either parent still doesn't mean there's no trauma to children. Thank God Anissa was mature enough to take on an adult's duty. Anissa what an awesome job to take on one of the most significant responsibilities of her own and her siblings life!
