I'm a 31yr driver. My 1st O/O gig was 11/15- 3-24. Same truck as I could never get far enough ahead to get a new rig. Tater gave up the ghost in March at 1,238,818 miles. I turned 65 2 weeks prior. I'm home now working for far less $, in a financial bind, and happier than I've been in yrs.
Keep your head up bud…quit being so hard on yourself. It is what it is. You will walk out of this. You’re not the only one going through shit. You got this. Your worst enemy is your self. 👊🏻
Jackknife, Your biggest problem from what I see is “Budgeting”. You and your wife together are making $100K a year with a house that’s paid off. Get on a tight budget and you will come out of this no problem. You mentioned “back when you were making money” again the money you thought you had to spend was money that you had mismanaged or improperly budgeted. Most all businesses have small margins and even under a tight budget it takes time, meany years to accumulate any free capital or large amounts of money. I’m telling you this as a successful O/O-Carrier of 27 years. I had meany years in the beginning where I made very little. Just enough to get by. I also beg to differ with you on mechanics pay. A good mechanic 👨🔧 makes $75k+ a year plus benefits. You should be happy you have a home pod for and a car to drive. Sit down with your wife and work out a tight Budget and a plan moving forward and ten years from now you will be in a better spot.
While everybody was bragging about being an owner op I was a company driver and reselling on the weekends. Payying off debt and saving money. Fast forward 5 years. No debt. Vehicles paid off. Wife finished school just got a 80k work from home job. We have 2 kids. Fully funded emergency fund. Life is good. 5 years of sacrifice being a company guy. A business is a risk...cant take risks when you have a family and got to feed them. You can but you have to have a solid foundation first. Personally I'm burnt on trucking so right now I'm part time.
Hindsight is always 20/20. I lived in a shack with a dirt floor once in my life. You just have to get up everyday and learn. If you have your health you have wealth! Old people say that all the time, because it means something!
When I first got into trucking, I was told 90% of trucking companies fail. Man it's a tough industry. Reflect and move on man if you dwell on it too long you'll get stuck there and that's how depression kicks in. Hope this is a redemption story and you can get back in. Good luck man
You know that the time heals everything. We getting used to any type of situation and even we forgetting most of the details even in time. Accept the situation as just a technical issue, don't think like this is a personal failure or anything else. Bcs you know that everybody having their own bad times, you ain't the only one. Just continue to focus to solutions mate! I can see that you're already looking way more better than before 👊
You still alive that’s a sign of the pendulum swinging man If you can do it before you can do it again You were cracking me up on those videos but glad to see you up and moving
I feel you brother.. lucky me I don't have to think about anyone else. It's only me. Once my truck burn was 6 months and I sis work for someone...but honestly pay is not even close to O/O also I don't have car payment etc. But things is diferent to everyone. I hope you be ok
I get it. I don’t have shit all for anyone to talk to. They all dead anymore. I’m a bit bipolar myself so let me say. Don’t let that shit get the best of ya! Some people got it way worse. Your outlook is a big part of the outcome. Stay out of your head and stay on the hustle. Anyway.. good to see you posting something.
Nearly everyone doing this full time seems to be out of people to turn to with little that's bright or interesting to say. It can really suck at times.
I get you being authentic i swear i do but you been crying alot shake back i dont care nun yall did no crying when it was at the all time high stop all this crying when its low dont judge a man when he comfortable its about what he adapt to and im just beinng real you not lying but ight bro we get it i still support you though 💯
I am making six figures as a company driver, and I show every pay statement on my channel. You could do it too, but you have to find a company that has good culture, home time, equipment, and compensation. They are out here. The best carriers are not advertising
I’ve wanted to ask you, why do you keep pulling reefer? You know flatbedding, you should do that and the revenue will be better. The rates ain’t perfect, but they are better by far. I pull a lot that comes out to $3-$4/mile and that’s after the lease company takes their cut. You may not be home as much as you are now, although you can truck on home whenever you want to because it’s your truck. All I’m saying is there’s better work out there for O/O buddy, more revenue and less down time. Start exploring your options, heck I can even suggest some of you want.
Well u live in PA EBO Logistics and Grocery Haulers are always hiring good pay u have to be willing to unload that Bread but it’s a Union Fit not hard to get in I ran for them in Massachusetts
