CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - King Cutter couldn’t go anywhere with 1,000 pounds of golf cart lying on his right leg. Luckily, though, his cellphone automatically dialed 911 and a Clarendon County Sheriff’s deputy was there to help within minutes.
Just past 1 a.m., Lewis King Cutter, the Clarendon County Assistant Public Defender, was trapped under his overturned golf cart with containers of beer lying on the ground at the corner of Bloomville Road and Mohawk Drive.

There are Judges orders all across this lovely nation that won't allow cameras into the courtroom. I don't know what it is with these judges, but I have a feeling it's because they know they're up to no good. They've been sitting on that judge's chamber for so long, the last thing you need is cameras in their calling out their BS

I couldn't think of any additional questions you could have asked regardless of the fact the Public Officials wouldn't respond. It is really a shame that the people we elect, etc to be 'Servants' of the People don't want to be held accountable for their actions as our Public Servants and lie, cheat & take anything to enrich themselves whenever possible. I hope you and the other Investigative Reporters keep fighting the good fight as i don't want to see what would happen if the public takes steps to STOP their sneaky ways AGAIN.... This makes me question how effective of a public defender that man was. I mean think about it. The fact that these cops were so unwilling to investigate makes me think- if a public defender is supposed to DEFEND arrestees from the charges from these very cops- why do they feel so obligated to give him preferential treatment? So it’s obvious that the public defender’s office doesnt actually have the public’s interests in mind.

The allegations that the Sheriff's department is out to get him is beyond absurd. I am an honorably-retired police officer with a successful law enforcement career spanning 30 years. In addition to the regular DUI training that all cops get, I also have advanced ARIDE DUI training. I have done more successful DUI cases than any patrol officer I know. And as an FTO (Field Training Officer) I have trained new officers to help them to develop their DUI skills. It may not be apparent to lay people, what exactly is going on in this incident, but I'll tell you. That trooper is a classic example of a "diversity hire". I'm sure there were many red flags along the way during the hiring process, during his oral board interview, the background investigation, and probably the psych and the polygraph. But it was all overlooked, so that the department could virtue-signal by hiring another minority, even though he wasn't suitable for The Job. He wasn't trying to "do a favor" for the offender, he was just LAZY. DUI cases are a lot of work, and he gets paid the same whether he does one or not. He complained multiple times about the primary officer wanting him to take the DUI case, but the county officer's concerns about a conflict of interest, were legitimate. The trooper failed to do his sworn duty, he lied in his reports (which is a crime), and he lied to the Internal Affairs investigators. And lying is the kiss of death in law enforcement- he will NEVER be able to testify on the stand again, because the first thing the defense attorney will bring up, is the fact that the trooper is a documented liar, and thus can't be trusted. He's now worthless as a cop, and is just taking up space. He should be fired and prosecuted criminally, but diversity hires always scream "racism" when anyone tries to hold them accountable for doing wrong.

I wrecked during a DUI with no insurance and served 30 days in jail and had my license suspended for 6 months and served probation for the same time period. I was never offered to buy insurance and have that charge dropped... probably because I was sitting in jail 🤷. My point is there are very clearly two justice systems depending on who you are...idc what anyone says, it's just the truth. Now also to be fair I think the justice system designed for these guys do a lot better of curbing bad behavior. When you lock humans in a cage and take away their ability to function or support themselves then you shouldn't be surprised to see them turn to bad behaviors or a life of crime. That public defender got off easy in everyone's eyes but the truth is he's extremely embarrassed and likely won't let that ever happen again. If more people were treated how he was there would be far less crime. People think strict jail sentences and a harsh judicial reduces crime rates but it does quite the opposite. It's just like with kids. The ones acting out and misbehaving the most are the ones with either the most strict parents or the most absent parents. In other words a judicial system is necessary but when you make it harsh you ignorantly invite more crime whether that's your intention or not.
