Guitar demo of the tonal time machine, the Meet Maude Analog Delay by Canadian tone connoisseurs, Fairfield Circuitry.

I cried manly tears as well the first time I played this pedal. It just sounds so gorgeous and so alive. Happy you enjoyed listening to it as much as I enjoy playing it. You're gonna love this pedal :)

Great video! One of my favourite features of this pedal is to set the compression at 0 and put the feed on the very cusp of oscillation. Then switching to compression 1 will put it into full oscillation but of a controlled nature. With most delays if you put more strong signal into them at this point the oscillation will just get louder. But the Maude does the opposite: if you dig into the strings, there is a ducking effect that will momentarily stop the oscillation. Lay off and it will gradually come back in. Lots of fun for noodling!

I read a lot of praises about the Meet Maude and finally was able to pick one up to try on my own. The Meet Maude deserves all the praise, its sound is just so unique and beautiful. It is really love at first sound, and it will definitely stay on my board. I had many delays, but nothing like this. Better than Tonal Recall IMHO. Your demo brings out the best of the pedal. 🙏

Maybe not an “always on” type of pedal, but I can’t seem to turn it off 🤣 Indeed, Maude really layers a beautiful tonal character to whatever passes through...

It truly does deliver a delightfully warm always-on ambience. Doesn't really gets in the way. Just blooms and breathes beautifully together with your core tone

Jamie de la Sencerie - I honestly had zero expectations when plugging it in. I knew of Fairfield, but had never played it until now, and boy was I blown away. This thing just produces the sweetest and most organic ambience I've heard in a long time. Their gear is just excellent. I highly recommend you check out their lineup. And knowing you, you probably want to check out some of their fuzz pedals ;)

Their Randy's Revenge looks so damn cool. Also their feedback loop. Damn it seems like they make great high quality pedals without all the graphic selling points. I still really like the Meet Maude.

All of their pedals are amazing. Their Barbershop Overdrive is a spectacular transparent drive pedal and their Accountant Compressor is soooo good, and takes up no space at all. I personally think that their visual style is amazing, and the raw simplicity is a stunning visual selling point in its own right :) Happy you like the brand and their pedals. I highly recommend you go and check them out!

Great video!! awesome pedal! I love those delays that create the sense of a 3d space, with a haunted feel from the modulation jj!! I also love the old EHX memory man deluxe!! which are your favorites delay pedals?

Thank you very much! Yeah, smeary modulated delays are my favorites as well. They just take your overall tone to a whole new dimension. I love delay, so I have a lot of favorites, but my current top5 would probably be: EQD Avalanche Run, Fairfield Meet Maude, Catalinbread EchoRec, EQD Disaster Transport Sr and Caroline Kilobyte :)

Im running this into the front of a slightly over driven amp..with the avalance run into the fx loop followed by the nitewire both knobs set to attack

when you put the wet to full does it play in real time or is there still some delay? loved the playing btw :)

Very very short delay, maybe 30-50ms or so. It doesn't really throw me off and I'm hard pressed to hear the difference, but can feel it more so.

This is my all time favorite delay pedal but to be fair it doesn't meet all of my delay needs. I love the murkiness of it but it doesnt always fit in the mix :( still in love with this modulated baddie tho. Also no tap tempo :(

Meet Maude is definitely not a versatile delay. So I totally get why it doesn't cover all of your needs. What it does do, it does better than any other delay pedal out there though. Just such a special and lush murky blanket of ambience it can create.

Thanks for the kind words 🙏 Even though it’s not an all analog delay, it’s digital but voiced to sound analog, the SolidGoldFX Electroman MkII is one of the finest delays I’ve played for that warm wash underneath your core tone. I truly can’t hear a difference between that and an all analog delay. You should check it out. I think it’s killer. But if you absolutely need a 100% analog delay, then give the Maxon AD-9 Pro a go, or this wonderful creation you’re commenting on right here, the Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude, if you want more of a dark tape vibe.

Fairfield aren't really known for spitting out an endless stream of pedals. There's usually a lot of space between releases. So if you want a Meet Maude, then get a Meet Maude!

just got the maude.. but the same problem with the shallow water that im experiencing is that there seems to be somewhat a lot of noise when pushed on or at least compared to what I hear on the video my pedal seems to make a lot of noise.. did you ever experience this?
