The intensity of everyone's performance far outweighs in efefct any 'heaviness' that any other band would bring to the sound. Thompson's playing is unique and, no doubt, the next night the solo would have been entirely different again. Fairport at this time didn't do gigs, they gave masterclasses.

And what’s more than a bit astounding, in retrospect, is that the pair of albums that preceded those two are probably even better. “What We Did on Our Holidays” and “Unhalfbricking” are, for my money, the best LPs Fairport ever made.
I’ve never heard the band pronounce the name of this song before - I’ve always thought of it as rhyming with “cloth”. To think I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all these years!
I messed up. This comment was for easy rider cover hendrix. Jimi's live tone. Like randy Hanson, Hendrix devotee. Nobody does 1983 merman should turn to be like randy. This sounds live Hendrix similar to Woodstock, or the one in Hawaii. I'm not big fan of billy cox on bass though. Although live concert film during (Noel and Mitch)isn't the best evidence. I've heard to many stories from people who seen Hendrix. Their storys vary but usually go like this, "The first time they seen Jimi Hendrix mind blowing, sayin they'ed haven't seen anything like it since. (Elton John also said this during interview 2011 2012? (When Elton john recruited the two cello players into his band. (They play cello like Hendrix plays guitar with finesse al de meola' or Jason beckar, ichika, Buckethead etc. Peace serenity. The same when Jimi played 'the marque club' London. Fleetwood Mac, Beatles, cream, rolling stones etc. The best experience was seeing noel n mitch with jimi. Tightest with Hendrix My second reason for not appreciating jimi's army buddy billy cox has to do with isle of wight. At the end (sometime between the last two songs) Hendrix is not having good show, tired. Jimi gives billy heads up, signaling billy to come up front play, like 'show you're stuff'. Jimi would stand back by Mitch break for minute. Billy cox wired, chewing gum 100 miles hr. Billy acknowledges Jimi clearly. (Once you see this, its not hard to find) Billy doest want to come forward. He just chews gum looking at Hendrix, "I'm good, I don't want too solo front stage." Their expressions are clear .If this happened with noel Jimi could walk off stage for minute, come back when noel finished. There were times noel and Mitch played themselves. Not often, giving Jimi short break. I hate this fucking phone
