Fairy Tail - Igneel vs Acnologia 

My jaw drop everytime I see the full shot of igneel when he appear . His design and drawing are amazing , acno is too but igneel is exactly what I was thinking about when I dreamed about dragon .

They said if only igneel was in his prime and still active in outside world. He will break acnologia into pieces

i liked acnologia not talking to fairy tail members, added a whole element of power and fear to the character

Makes you wonder how strong Igneel was at his prime when half dead and a little bit of his original strength he managed to damage Acnologia to such extend, not to mention he was more or less dominating the fight.

Man, Fairy Tail would have been such a legendary anime if it really had better fight scenes instead of powerpoint presentations and if the ending wasn't rushed. That last arc would have been so good had they just given it time for build up, power scaling and fight animations. Hopefully the 100yr quest will be given justice this time.

Ancologia solely won from his immunity to magic other than that igneel was actually winning from the amount of attacks he landed

I remember when i read this first in the manga... as many critics it might have, i still enjoy fairy tail quite a lot. I understand those critics and i think they are right, fairy tail suffers from many many cliches, relays too much in the power of friendship and many other aspects.... But i think what attracts people its the concept, and that in the end is a shonen, you want to see cool powers, flashy fights... If i want to see a deeper and better story, there are plenty of other shows ive watched and that i could watch, but there is a time for everything, and sometimes you just want to relax and watch a show whithout giving such an importance to the plot. Its like having a burger, obviously a homemade beef burger is much superior to mcdonalds, nutritionaly and in quality, but cant deny that sometimes, you just want mcdonalds, eventhough its not as good as the other, but theres... something, that makes it enjoyable. Having said that, to clarify that fairy tail has a shitty plot, plain characters and an endless list of flaws... Its one manga i really have a soft spot in my heart for, as i said, conceptwise its one of my favourites (the elementary dragons, the dragonslayers, erza, the demons, acnologia itself, techniques as Grand chariot(that just have a badass name).... they all are just cool). Acnologia (as bad as a character as it is), its probbably in my top 3 anime villains (design wise, its just badass), and eileen probbably in the top 10.... I remember when his human form was first revealed in the manga i shit my pants off, such a good moment. The appearance of igneel was such a long awaited moment, and when it finally happened it was like fuck yeah, acnologia vs igneel and so... You might have liked or not the end result of the confrontation, but at least we did get the moment. And after this long ass text, whats my point? oh my god i remember when i saw this airing thought it was bad , but after rewatching this, some years later, holy shit its even worse than i remembered. This moment could have been awesome animated (as i said, forget plot, story... just focus on the two main dragons on the series beating the shit out of each other), in the manga it was just such an strong moment *(Gotta give props to Hiro Mashima, He might write really bad, but he has a such a good drawing and capability to draw such cool concepts and designs, even now edens zero is a delight to read, the drawing is really good and the fights are really cool too, eventhough the story is a bit better, it still carries many flaws that just come with Hiro, he just doesnt write that well (all this apart from the overly sexualized drawings, that he just puts in like.... they werent necessary. guess if he still does it its because he enjoys it, wouldnt do it myself) * and in the anime its just PNGs flying over a overshadowed backgroung... My god you have to try and be cheap to do something so bad.... And this goes for most of the series after the tournament arc after tenroujima (natsu and gajeel vs sting and rogue was probbably one of, if not the best fight in the series up to that point, sadly the last one "decently" animated, not spectacular, but really enjoyable). I hope one day fairy tail gets a remake with proper animation, but with the bad name the series has made, i doubt it, and its a pity, because i think that fairy tail is one of those series, that well directed and animated, has a fucking lot of visual potential. It has been made with other series, just look at kimetsu no yaiba (ive read the manga, admit the story is nothing out of this world, in fact, its quite similar to faily tail, has many of the same flaws), a normal series can be elevated with good animation that brings out its potential, to what i think its a must watch for any anime fan by today. Kimetsu right now is a mandatory watch, even if you are not the biggest fan of the shonen genre. Its a similar case, weak story, cool concepts(the pilars and the demons, with the upper and lower moon rankings...) Fairy tail is a series that visually, has the potential to be freaking amazing. So its better to keep dreaming. I wrote all of this because i just read the lates manga chapter of the 100 years quest and man, it is enjoyable, not the best manga ive read, but something to look forward to every two or three weeks. Ignia vs Selene has been a fight that gave me a nostalgic vibe, and just made me want to revisit igneel vs acno, but sadly this has made me remember why i even dropped the anime before the alvarez arc (and for the fragments i watched on youtube, it didnt improve, just got worse....im speaking about animation, i read it in the manga when it was still being published). What a waste, the Alvarez arc reminds me of the thousand year blood war arc from bleach (TYBW is better, but you get the point), bad arc, but with some of the coolest and hypest moments of the series, that animated, could even be highlights. Thats why im so looking forward to finally having the adaptation of the TYBW of bleach, after so many years, i just pray they dont mess up and give us the fans the anime weve been asking for so much time. For the anime adaptation of the 100 years quest of FT, im not so optimistic, i prefer to keep my expectations low so i dont get dissapointed, sad, but real. Holy shit what i bible i wrote, but i dont know, i just wanted to express my opinion, even if no one is going to read it, just needed to leave it out there and spit it out. For anyone that has got to the end, thanks a lot

When we see Igneel's Roar of the Fire Dragon, (especailly when Happy and Erza remark on it) it gives me chills

Because no one could ever after damage him by any means rather than tackles and tosses to gain some time until his demise which as we may know was one hit K.O ultimate plot flame dragon genki dama punch which was meant to destroy him in one move.

as much as i love igneel i doubt in his prime he would have beaten acnologia. Given the fact that acnologia was able to rip his soul from his body and from the other dragons in the past. In my point of view, if igneel was still in his prime then he would have definately dealt more damage to acnologia. Even if the other dragons fought alongside igneel i doubt it would do anything since in the dub, metalicana stated, "even the mighty igneel wasn't able to defeat acnologia". This means that igneel was the strongest out of the five dragons.

i am still salty about the other dragons not helping igneel, like bruvv, if you have time to shat then you have time to fight. get in there and dogpile the bastard. igneel didn't have to die, nor he should have. it was all because the other dragons were being lazy. you need to tell the dragonslayers what happened? fine, leave one behind, the rest of you go and fight. truly one of the most epic, and dumbest fights in the series. this is one of the few things that i heavily dislike about fairy tail's story to the point that i would retcon it if i could. yes, i am aware that igneel held back in order to keep the humans from getting hurt, my point is only reinforced when combined with that fact.

I lost interest, when the writer let Igneel fought alone, when there were many other dragons taking down the faces together; also with the idea when Acnologia was rising to fame, they could have all gang up on him already.
