A quick search and this was found. **Kirsty MacColl**, the talented singer who collaborated with The Pogues on the beloved Christmas song "Fairytale of New York," did not change the original lyrics. The alterations to the song were made by BBC Radio 1 in **2020** to censor offensive language. One of the most realistic that's what makes it good. The holidays trying to force people disgusted with each other to make nice. Highest rates of suicide are that time of year not just the lack of daylight but those unrealistic expectations are really depressing.

Well said, both truly sadly lost, but this is nothing without Kirtsy.

Ignoring a lot of the details the absolute travesty that was the follow-up failure of the Mexican "justice," system to hold the multimillionaire who killed her accountable... her family did a HELL of a lot in the aftermath to not only seek justice, but to work to fix a lot of the issues that contributed to her untimely death. Including raising a substantial amount of money for a number of charities, both based in and working in Mexico (among others), believing (i think correctly) that its what Kristy would have done/wanted. Her legacy is one of heroism, and its a shame it had to be that way.
