I love when Faith sang Mary Did You Know man she went off. I also watch that performance of Say A Prayer for me all the time. Her tone is so beautiful. Her range is and agility is crazy. I also love the clarity in Ledisi voice. Mary is all passion.

Faith Evan’s has such a beautiful tone. Ledisi has a crazy ass control over her voice. It is ridiculous. Mary is my favorite and while her control of her instrument has always been hit or miss, when she’s on, she is ON!

Three amazing singers. Ledisi really shined in the upper register. I think Mary sounds better in her middle register. Faith in her prime was such an agile light soprano. I think if she took better care of her voice now, some of that rasp wouldn't be as prevalent. Thanks for the video!!!

Faith all day Karen Clark Sheard Jr.!!! And the KCS Jr. title is more so in her earlier days when her voice was in pristine condition and very light and agile as another commenter said. However, if people don't just destroy their voices they can often recover some or many of their previous capabilities - if I am not mistaken. That being said I am ABSOLUTELY NOT counting Faith out. She is my FAV R&B singer and can she can also sing the dog stuffing out of some gospel as well. She had me in tears just a few days ago listening to her sing "Pray For Me". And I can rarely get through her performance of "Mary Did You Know" where her present day KCS sound was shining through. In my humble opinion she sounded closer to KCS in the 90's till up to a few years ago or so. KCS has also said HERSELF that she can hear herself in Faith. The same way that Aretha said that she can hear herself in other singers. I'll say if Faith begins right now to practice great vocal health (health overall) and commit to vocal training (if she hasn't already begun this process) to maximize what she has left she can absolutely be the FOREVER COMEBACK QUEEN. I am only saying it this way because of some of the vocal deterioration we've witnessed over the past several years. REGARDLESS: Faith remains among my FAV female singers of all time Early Aretha - Anita Baker, KCS, Faith, Kelly & Phyllis Hyman, Oleta Adams, Diane Reeves. There are many singers who have beautiful voices - Yes. And all of them don't have the anointing and that makes the difference.

They all really took C5. But Ledisi had the best C5. C#5: Ledisi. But Faith was a good 2nd runner up. D5: Faith, and Ledisi. Imma give it to Faith cause her tone on that J. Cole song at the beginning always gets me. Mary would've been nice on D5, but her tone comes off ugly a lot of times. Eb5: Faith E5: Ledisi F5: All of their 1st F5s were ugly to me. Faith took F5 with her 2nd F5 tho. F#5: Ledisi. But damn Faith's 2nd F#5, especially at the end. I might actually say Faith has the actually F#5 because of that. G5: Ledisi. Her beating register is SOO ELASTIC, Whew!! G#5: Ledisi. A5: Mary. This was like Mary's only good belted note to me, especially the higher end up the chest register range. Bb5: Mary had a better mix, Ledisi's was kinda unpleasant to me. I would say either Ledisi or Faith took this. I love Faith's tone more, so I'll go with her.

Faith & Ledisi are Sopranos who are trained vocalist. Mary is a Mezzo who is at best a moderate backup singer who taught herself to sing. So its bot a fair comparison for either if them. Self taught singers tend to lack range and technique, but know the basics of singing. Ledisi comes out on top if i had to choose out if the 3.

Faith really shinned in the lower register, then I wanna say Ledisi, tho Mary did have a nice F3.

Y'all know ledisi has this. Mary has the hits and can sound good on any or everything... She's like a voice by ear (where people can learn instruments by listening).. ledisi is real sangin talent with soul and class.. faith has the ability to sang anything you want in anyway but it really does just feel like a talented singer. Like faith has the voice you want of an actress in your movie. Mary has that radio and heartbreak/heartfelt voice but ledisi has the voice that speaks to your grandmomma, soul, and shuns them all and her control / tone / everything just jumps to another level.

I love Faith tone more on that note. Ledisi was Epic. I remember that performance. Mary also did good. Bb5: Faith took it for me. Overall I'd say Faith or Ledisi won this. They were kind of neck and neck throughout. If I had to chose one it be Faith but both of those ladies won this.

Even though Faith Evans voice is raspy now, she still has the range, control and power to be at the top. I think she sounds better aged now then Mary who just can’t sing

I just saw Ledisi live this weekend and her voice and control is amazing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I would've never thought to put these singers in a video together. Faith is my fav and always has been, I love her versatility. Ledisi is just amazing and her highs are so effortless, she also has great control of her instrument. I think you picked great clips for this video!

Its Faith Evans, Mary J, and then Ledisi. Faiths tone and power is the most plesent throught her entire range lows to the highs and she keep that soulfulness. Mary second because obviously Mary is going to bring that soul and make you feel it. She's never been an artist to trying to hit exact notes she just sings from the soul and gives you a good time. Then Ledisi has the most cobtrol and versatility but thers a lack of soulfulness that she lacks she sibgs more clean and professional. When it comes to singing Ledisi is the better but when it comes down to sanging flat footed its Faith and Mary. All 3 amazing singers and stand in their own lanes with no competition.

Love all these ladies, but Ledesi is in another dimension.

I don't like when people post stuff like this. There 3 different singers with three different voices. Of course I love Mary. If we want t to compare careers let's be honest Mary will wins this hands down. In my opinion she's been the most consistent artists since the 90's. She has an album that comes out every 2 years or so. Technically she may not have the best voice but she is a RAW TALENT. I'll take that any day over a technicy correct singer. She relates to so many people young and old. Just like Beyonce. I don't believe she has the best voice but she's the total package.

Ledesi has nothing unique. Mary has unique but is not great. Faith has it all.
