Here after listening to an interview with John Rich and the inspiration for writing this song. It's very fitting! Good job to them both for staying true.
This song used to be pkayed all the time on the radio. The it was replaced by some of the newer stuff and I barely heard it anymore. Thumbs up if you think that they should start replaying the classic country songs.
We have a Mississippi Girl now!🎉 My oldest daughter just moved there. We are praying God blesses her and her family in Mississippi! In Jesus name Amen 💕
I'm from Belmont.....just a little ways from where Elvis was born.......Thank the Lord for Mississippi and what she produces........Y'all need to listen and learn.
I identify with this song. People come down hard on Mississippi folks, but I love my state so much. Thanks Faith for coming out with that song and showing the world we got a reason to be proud!!💖
I can't understand how this doesn't have at least over one million views. This song always makes me think of my Mom (RIP). Her & my Dad (RIP) spent the first years of their marriage in Meridian, Mississippi.
She is so beautiful and such a beautiful singer and inspiration I have family from Mississippi but born in Louisiana I'm still a southern girl who loves southern music
Yeah it has a great backstory. She and Tim were touring with Big & Rich, and she told John that she wanted him to write a song that only she could sing. After hanging out with her awhile on tour, he got to know her better and was inspired to write this to describe how she acted behind the scenes.
As a Jamaican born Lebanese that was raised in Memphis and as an adult lives in Miami I absolutely miss and love Memphis…I’ll forever love my city and state!
Yeah Well, it's a long way from Star, Mississippi To the big stage I'm singing on tonight And sometimes the butterflies still get me When I'm in the spotlight And some people seem to think that I've changed That I'm different than I was back then But in my soul, I know that I'm the same way That I've really always been 'Cause a Mississippi girl don't change her ways Just 'cause everybody knows her name Ain't big headed from a little bit of fame I still like wearing my old ball cap Riding my kids around piggy back They might know me all around the world But, y'all, I'm still a Mississippi girl Woo! Well, I spent a few weeks in California They put my face on the big movie screen But that don't mean I've forgotten where I came from That's just me chasing dreams 'Cause a Mississippi girl don't change her ways Just 'cause everybody knows her name Ain't big headed from a little bit of fame I still like wearing my old ball cap Riding my kids around piggy back They might know me all around the world But, y'all, I'm still a Mississippi girl Woo! 'Cause a Mississippi girl don't change her ways Just 'cause everybody knows her name Ain't big headed from a little bit of fame Still like wearing my old ball cap Riding my kids around piggy back They might know me all around this world But, y'all, I'm still a Mississippi, girl Mississippi girl! Oh oh Mississippi girl! Mississippi girl! Yeah, yeah, oh Oh oh oh oh oh Mississippi girl! Na, Na
It is really a catchy, fun tune:) I like Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl" because it is down to earth and I like the butterflies in this video:)! I am not from the South, but I have some relatives from South Carolina and Georgia.

Just hearing this song for the first time, in New Mexico.. LOVE IT because I'm a Alabama girl and proud of where I'm from, right on the Tennessee River. song kinda makes me homesick :(
It's April 2020 and I've loved watching this video for quite a few years. My folks (may they RIP) used to live in Meridian, MS and this song always makes me think of my Mom.
Wow! I haven't heard this song in years. When I was young I went on a trip with a girl I had a serious crush on. One night the place we were staying held a talent show and she went on stage and KILLED this song. She took home first place! Every time I hear it I close my eyes and it takes me back to that night cheering her on in the crowd. Haven't seen her in years. I always wondered what happened to her...
Never change Faith you are so wonderful as it is thank you so much for this wonderful song and wonderful message love you and God bless you ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌👏👏🔥🔥
After watching video of Jon Rich Prager U I had to come listen. I've heard this song a million times ridding in FL while growing up with my momma driving. The good ole days
Fait Hill is a great singer, wonderful wife & mother & her songs are for everyone who goes threw anything that she sings, & I think thats awsome, hope we see more of her this year.
I'm a Mississippi girl, and this song describes my life. I have some old friends who thinks I've changed so much just because I'm a music major in college & want to become a broadway actress. I'm like "Look. I'm still Eva from Mississippi. I was born & grew up most of my life here. I still know my place, & nothing will ever change that."
Sabrina Thayer DAMN you were so late to hear faith hill. She released her first CD the same year I was born in 1993. This song was from 2005. Why were you.so late
Kory St. Aoro I'm a guy and I really like this song. I'm actually from southern Florida, where you have go north to get to the south, but my dad's family is all southerners so country has always been one of the main music styles that I listen to and most of the song lyrics I've written are country.

This has always been me and my moms song since i was so little ive known every word it makes me cry now listening to it im just glad i have this song ❤
I remember when this song came out. I think I was maybe 9 or 10 years old I loved it then. And I love it now. And I just found out tonight that John rich help write this song for her. I can’t even imagine the times. The love and maybe even the pain that those people have spent and shared with each other. And it makes them all individuals. Love faith hill so much. Keep trucking girl.
I was lucky enough to be on site during the filming of the outdoor scenes in Malibu Creek State Park in California. Met Faith, Tim and 2 of the kids. Nice, down to earth people (Faith is gorgeous without makeup too )
this was only released like 4 years ago. She wasnt that young when it came out. Faith has been making music since I was really young. Look at her song Wild One and then you can talk about her being really young. She does though look incredible for her age. She is a stunningly beautiful woman who ages gracefully!!
That is my FAVORITE SONG!! "Cause a Mississippi girl won't change her ways just cuss everybody knows her name"!! I sing that frequently and also say WHO DAT!!
@iranduum Country music is probably one of the best music,i listen to it every day and i can not get enough of it,reminds of a song that is named i love it i want it i cant get enough of it.every time someone says something it reminds me of a country music!
Hello Melissa 👋 how are you. Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
Jacqueline Dowe Every Caucassian is a little bit country oriented :-) Including me from Europe. But I was in Mississippi in 2002 and I love this place!
Calling Faith Hill "pretty" is like calling a tidal wave "moist"... Somehow it just doesn't adequately describe the magnitude, you know? Tim McGraw is one lucky dude!!! She's a good girl too... Perfect...
Hi Faith, Ive followed your music for awhile, and you represent country!!! Great quality audio and video. This song is one of many on your Fireflies CD. Thank you super talented country girl!!! Nick
my class was doing a spelling test (i am in yr 6) , and my teacher read out the word Mississippi and then 2 freinds and i randomly started singing this song, it was so funny because the principal was literally walking past the classroom and he and the rest of the class were all like 'what?' and it was just so funny. we were singing it so loud.
