Faith No More - Ahead of Their Time They dared to fuse all of the above into a unique sound that can now be heard all over. Linkin Park, Miike Snow, Foster the People, Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Cage the Elephant, Puscifer, etc.
@@DrNothing23 zorn's related things are sooooo cool! But hard to listen if you're not inside Zorn & Patton works. Did you know "Corleone" and "Reevoluto" by Patton and musicians from my homeland, Sicily, Roy Paci and Aretuska ?
it's always fun to see new listeners who have never heard previously of the amazing band Faith No More, and they like the band after the first listen:) I'd like to see here further exploration of Mike Patton's incredible, masterful vocal range and Faith No More's generally unique creative style in other signature songs here as well("Ashes to ashes", "Jizzlobber","Cuckoo for caca", "Digging the grave", "Separation anxiety"...........)
This is a great rabbit hole to explore- Faith No More. Best part, every album sounds completely different from every other. This was in Angel Dust, which most would agree is their masterpiece. I recommend exploring them album by album.
It's not about a midlife crisis, Mike Patton(vocalist) said "it's more about creating false emotion, being emotional, dwelling on your emotions and in a sense inventing them". If you want something more metal from them, try "Surprise! You're Dead!", "Caffeine", "Cuckoo for Caca", "Ashes to Ashes".
I wouldn't get lost in the lyrics. FNM invented an entire genre of music. Nu Metal. This is as radio friendly as they get. Mike's a monster rocker (both Mike's actually. Bordin on drums was a real freak of nature) and mixing synth and metal guitar like that was brand new in '89. Thx John! 🤘
Mike's vocals in this are supposed to be emulating things that aren't voices. The verses are drums and percussion, the part before the chorus is guitars, the chorus are horns, the bridge a string section, etcetera. This song was originally called "Madonna" and is about rich people buying poor children Edit: I should note that the drum riff from the intro is a bite on Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel. The name Faith No More is from their original name, "Faith No Man", once they changed it, it was not "Faith No Man" anymore, hence, "Faith No More"
