Artist Faith Ringgold says that even as a child, she always painted and loved to listen to her families' stories. Ms. Ringgold provides her vision of African art, not very well known when she was learning to paint, and some of the tumultuous events - the Civil Rights Movement, the feminist movement - that she experienced. Born in Harlem, in 1930, with Bachelor and Masters Degrees from The City College/CUNY, Ms. Ringgold continues to paint, producing extraordinary works of art.
