We shouldn't be discouraged from stacking up precious metals, the actual money is gold and silver. This paper currencies were introduced to replace this metals due to its scarcity and value do not stop stacking
I would like to get precious metals that has not been compromised, most of the locals tend to bury copper or aluminum into the bars to increase the weight. Can you help with a recommendation?
I have given saving in the bank much thought, it's better you have your savings on precious metals ( set aside funds for a particular project or future purpose savings) better still invest it somewhere to avoid losing the value of your wealth to inflation

I go to 5 different shops around the mid Michigan ares and only the one in our capital...LANSING has a sigma machine they all go by weight and weather or not it sticks to a magnet

I couldn't begin to list all the things wrong with that fake, but the "SIL VER" written as two words on the reverse guarantees that the coin is a fake.
The field of stars on the fake has a stippled background, the real one has a smooth finish with some rippling. There are other super obvious differences.
If you are new to silver I would suggest you buy from a reputable dealer such as APMEX, JMBULLION, SDBULLION, MONEY METALS, just to name a few. As you grow in knowledge and experience you can break out with more cost effective dealers. Happy Stacking!

Ebay has been flooded. Always cheap prices and not a lot of feedback. They sell as long as they can get away with it until the bad feedback catches up with them.
Most of us have found 1-2 in our collection. Counterfeit coins is B.S. they make copies of everything from Silver Eagle, to even Rounds and Bars. Making buying scarry.
dont want to act like Mr Know It All But Eagles fake and real are both easy to spot right away I mean the real one has a mat silver/greyish finish. u can just tell right away
Yes they are. I didn’t do my homework and bought some off off Ebay. Right away I knew they didn’t look right. Very dull look. Didn’t pass the pin reset on the coin tester application . The magnet did not stick to it though Jus to make sure I took it to a coin dealer. At first glance he knew they were counterfeit . Got my $159 back and filed a report. The seller is out of Elk Grove Village, IL. He still has more listed for sale. Hope EBay catches him soon.
There's a number of non-destructive tests that can and should always be done when buying or selling bullion coins. The ping sound test, an accurate scale checking exact mass, or the Sigma Metalytics sensors checking conductivity and density... etc.
@@centralmichiganstacker5138 I just bought three online that were steel, no missing reed security feature on the edge, looked more like proofs than bullion and the reverse image was 180 degree rotated. Copper ones would be scary.
Compare the sun's rays around the L on the obverse. Then compare the font of the USA on the rear. 2022 should also have a missing reed between 7nad8 o'clock I believe. You might also ask if he as any employees or volunteers working with him who may have swapped it behind his back.
@@endtheccp4228 Exactly, most, if not all coin shops have machines similar to ultra sound that can see variations in the metals, acid tests could be run too.

Never take anyone who's selling you somethings word for it and know the coin you are buying. 2022 silver eagles come in proof and burnished finishes and the reed taken out is at the 7'Oclock position on obverse where on 2021's it's at 6'0clock also need to weight 31.1 (1 troy) and should have been weighed before purchase and ping tested as well for 99.99 silver sound
These were a 2022. I contact the seller and he refunded my money Magyar I mentioned it’s a federal felony to counterfeit US government minted silver. As soon as I opened the package, I knew they were counterfeit. Didn’t do my homework before buying it. Always the the seller thoroughly on EBay. I reported him and EBay is getting back with me. Wonder if the secret service ever gets involved. I just want to make sure no others get ripped off.
That looks nothing like a Proof American Silver Eagle. I would have spotted that right away. Then again, my LCS wouldn't be selling one of those in the first place.
@@centralmichiganstacker5138 nothing special. Especially if selling to them. There are many good coin dealers Grand Rapids, Eaton rapids, brighton , west Lansing. And coin shows.
I noticed EBay cracked down a little. The crooks from Hong Kong get banned, but sometimes reappear with new online stores. One has to be vigilant. If the price is too good to be true, it usually is. Dead giveaway

Very easy to tell the 2nd ASE is a fake. I hope at least it had silver value so you didn't lose out 100%. Any LCS that doesn't take the time to ensure what they have is real, I'd be finding another LCS that takes the time to ensure it
Id question and test everything youve ever bought from them in everyway you can test it also with a sigma. If that got by them it would make me question their judgement.
I can tell by just looking at it that it's fake. Sorry you got ripped, dude. You should have taken it back to the dealer and demanded your money back. If you look on the fake front there is a nob between the last two letters, and the font is wrong. If you look on the back the word silver is broken up, SIL VER and the back isn't flipped.
This scares the hell out of me especially just getting started i just bought my first 6 silver eagles for 30 a piece and the owner of the store guaranteed they was real and magnets 🧲 don’t stick and when slide over a magnet it slows down but does not stick at all and has a silver ting to it.
