Fake and real Japanese NCO swords 

The 1st Gen NCO Swords started off Copper Handles then Japan realized “hey we need the copper for the bullets” then switched to aluminum in the Gen.2 because it was a cost effective alternative but mainly because Aluminum didn’t corrode as easy as Copper in the South Pacific

It should be added that there exists no real copper handle type 95 with two screw mekugi type mounting methods. Any copper handle with two screws is a fake. They only have a mounting screw in the kashira section.

Thought I'd make a comment prior to watching this... My uncle just passed down to me a "world war 2 Japanese NCO sword.." He has had this for over 50 years, it was passed to him from a WWII American soldier (although my uncle shared with me the specifics on how this sword was obtained, out of respect I'll not disclose that here). I have no reason to believe this sword to be fake, however, this shall be an interesting video to confirm what I already know to be real. Okay let's see what this gentleman has to share!

This is a Shin-Gunto it is a Fake sword in that it is not a traditional Nihonto. probably was made in a factory, as the stamps indicate. They are worthless to collectors but still a cool story.
