I repair a lot of GHD Hair Dryers, Helios and Air 1.0, but have never seen a fake one before.
The customer wasn't best pleased and couldn't remember where they were purchased from...
Key clues. Compared to the genuine item.
Plug is chunkier than it should be.
Mains cable is too stiff.
Air filter won't come off and is held under the GHD logo button, which may prise off.
Housing single screw is not a security type.
The blanking plug for the single screw is slightly small and shows a visible molding mark in the face surface.
Housing won't come apart without the risk of snapping at the handle area.
Internal wiring looks different and the mains cable clamp looks different and less effective.
Printed details have the address over two lines.
I didn't waste more time but doubt the serial number would work at the GHD website.
So beware!
