i buy all those fake tools when the thieves break into my van again i just replace them with more fake tools .if they see good tools in your van it's the first van to be broken into ,fake tools hold no value.thieves leave them.
well i bought 3 pack battery case only and i'll be using 2 2ah and one 2.5ah pack in total it should give 6.5ah output or bit more as good batteries output more power than rated
EXPLOSION! The important information to know about the fake batteries and I found it out the hard way is that both the fake batteries and fake chargers do not have balance charging (ie - not every cell monitored separately) , this means that as long as they are new and identical charge they may work fine but after a year or so mine exploded (6 times!!_ with flames and a lot of smoke . Just FYI - you can but "fake" balanced batteries but they are harder to find and more expensive. for none pro - I would recommend to stick with the original.
The Fake Chargers don't seem to have Cooling Fans in. Fortunately they've copied the original well enough to incorporate cooling fan mounting moulds and fan cable route lugs. Then it's a case of rigging up a mini 12v LEd type Power supply tapped into the mains. I use the original charger when in a hurry, it outputs upto 9amps. But the fake charger has a digital display and maxes out at 3amps, so prefer that
It looks like the battery indicator (picture of a battery with shading on it) is different as well. The real one (shaded area) goes from bottom slanting to the top and the Chinese one goes from top to bottom. How did you open up mine has a white blocker on one of the screws?
It is easy. Use a drill with your hand and rotate. If you do on the original you lose your warranty. I did it because I purchased it in the USA as a visitor, so anyway I don't have a warranty.
If I buy a gucci belt or LV or any luxury stuff of course will go for a genuine one, but these batteries only for work doesn’t matter if you go for a cheap one, and they work perfect for me
First, we are talking here about cheating, not about your free choice to buy a replacement item. They produce a counterfeit product with a Makita logo. Second, this issue is more critical than a Gucci belt. Lithium batteries can explode and cause an entire house to burn.
First, it doesn't fit properly on the charger. It damages the interface adapter of the charger. Second it wasn't so cheap. A replica battery is being sold much cheaper. This one was sold as original, little cheaper than in the US.
Dont buy original as in future it will not let you to fix them with new cells they have installed program to watch, and after they decrease voltage they will require replacement, So buy aftermarker they will serve much longer and you will be able to fix them )
Ray Monty Well i got the fake battery today and it works fine. Quality seems decent. Fits the tool well, doesn't fit the charger perfectly but it'll go in and charge, just have to wiggle it a little. But for $16 it seems like a really good deal. A real makita battery is almost $75. We'll see how it lasts..
You mean replica, not fake. Fake is when it pretends to be the genuine and there is a fake Makita logo. Replica is legal, Fake is fraud. Mine is fake as you can see in the video.
I've used the fleebay 6ah ones & have just killed my 1st pair of 6ah on the big rattlegun (3 years 6days a week in a tyre shop) When a genuine pair is $336 compared too a Chinese pair for $84, I'll keep ordering the cheapies lol (& have ordered 4 more 😂)
I just recently bought two 5 A 18 V non-genuine Makita batteries as well as a battery charger I have found that the batteries work well for me and the battery charger is better than the original Makita charger as the non-genuine charger has a digital display screen showing the percentage of charge and the price of this package was only slightly more than the cost of one Makita battery.
This is not the point. You can choose to buy whatever you prefer. The expansive genuine battery or a replacement battery, but it is not acceptable that you buy a genuine battery and get a fake one with the Makita logo. I myself never use fake or replacement batteries since it is very dangerous.
@@dannyf4995 thanks but that still doesn't help me unless I have it in hand. I want to avoid getting a fake altogether. Some are easy to spot but others not so much.
@@stuarthaines9920 This video was made just for having buyers be aware of the situation of fake batteries being sold with the Makita logo, and not as a guide on how to..... Of course you can tell if something is fake only if you have it in hand. However, I can give you a tip on how to avoid this situation. Don't buy Makita batteries from china especially if it cost half price. In the US it will not happen. May be 'open box' but not fake. By the way, I received a refund for those batteries and the seller didn't want me to ship his batteries back, So I still have those but don't use them.
