Fake vs Real Casio G-SHOCK GA 2100 “CasiOak” unboxing

Super easy to spot a fake, all fakes come with manual 5146 regardless what model you buy. There is a huge amount of work photocopying and printing the paper manuals for all the different gshock models, therefore they always include the same manual. Other easy tell is no barcode on box or barcode on back of hangtag. I just received fake ga2100, like you, my second fake from a well known auction site. Very annoying. Great video

This recently happened to me, and the fakes have gotten much better. Two lines of digital text, day indicator works, keeps great time, correct color light, everything works like the real one. But what gave it away: 16mm tall and acrylic crystal. Ebay gave me an instant 100% refund. As my girlfriend said "what is the world coming to when they counterfeit Casios?"

Seeing you makes me feel content to dwelve into this gshock world..im 37 years old..n im quite scared to wear gshock thinking that maybe its for younger folks…

The hour markers also look so shiny plasticy on the fake one, and the hour and minute hands also seemed off to me. But then again, I don't think I would have noticed if it wasn't side by side

I also discovered the fakes have normal spring bars. The genuine have quick-release spring bars you can easily get in and out without tools.

Wish you had shown more details in the difference between the hang tags and warranty cards. Also Casio does not put plastic stickers on the crystal or back; the fake had a blue-lined sticker.

That's why most of my G-Shocks I bought are limited editions, it takes a longer time for the fake factory to make a copy.

Hold the light button for a couple of seconds. A genuine G-Shock will display the light feature and will automatically engage when you move the watch. A fake does not have the feature.

One problem that the counterfeits cause is the inevitable up-charging from legit dealers. Casio basically doesn’t care if there’s fakes out there because that same customer who got duped will still long for & likely buy the real ones. The dealers don’t especially care for much the same reason plus they can charge more (or simply offer zero discounts) for the genuine articles. This same anomaly is true in the very popular and prosperous world of pocket knives except that most manufacturers have implemented what’s called ‘MAP pricing’ or minimum authorized prices which negates authorized dealers from having sales on most brands. It’s made for a lack of competitive pricing competition but it has also caused online retailers to be creative in generating customer loyalty. ‘Reward programs’ have become common whereby a repeat customer can get a small stipend towards future purchases with each order placed. It would be nice to see the major watch manufacturers follow this model as it points buyers to dealers with binding arrangements with manufacturers. Most counterfeit knives are on eBay now as amazon has addressed the problem they had with unwittingly distributing the junk seemingly from legit vendors.

The hour bumps are a massive give away, sharp and crisp lines on the original.

Its great when people like you show you what to look out regarding fake watches i bought a second hand watch from a shop and could tell it real from seeing about the watch on a utube channel if I had not seen the channel i would not have purchased the watch to many fakes about. 🇬🇧👍

I just checked , mine is real.

Just bought one on eBay for $60⁹⁵. Same model. 1. the weight is lighter at 46.7 grams. 2. The case back is thick like a half dollar is stuck on the back. 3. Flawed crystal prob acrylic. Same box as the fake shown. Also owners manual is for a different model. Same difference in card, tag, tin. The hands do not move out of the way for setting.

So glad I saw this----saw a few on Ebay directly from China and it looked sketchy as heck.

I don't know why many fake watches have these stickers on the back plate. CASIO watches never have those. It's an immediate giveaway. A seal of being "authentically fake" perhaps?

I bought a fake. I remember thinking wow this watch sucks... why is it so thick? I sold it too not knowing it was a fake... sorry to whoever ended up with it. When the Bluetooth version came out I couldn't resist and ordered the yellow one. That's when I realized the one I ordered the fist time was fake.

You can tell the difference right away. I wouldn't even need the original next to it to tell. So many giveaways it's funny.

4:24 If you pause and compare the quality of the finishing of the case, bezel, hands and dial, the fake has nothing near the quality finishing of the authentic watch and is clearly visible, certainly side by side. I would think the finishing would be one of the most obvious differences AFTER the thickness of the case. Incredible the difference. Plenty of reviews of this watch with excellent clear shots of the entire authentic watch for comparisons. If in doubt, send it back.

I am scared of how real the fake G-Shock watches can look :O Fortunately the weak detailed parts of the watch always help to reveal the fake ones.

I bet the price of the fake was lower than the real thing. If not, people must do some serious homework before purchasing on certain sites... In my case, I currently wear the modest and awesome Casio AE2000WD, and the TRT-110H-1A2VCF (and many others Casio models in static display). Well deserved "thumbs up" on your informative video. I got a GA-2100 1A1ER and the text on the buckle is not an indicator for fake. My Ga-2100 says China on the buckle, and cased in China on the backplate. I am from Europe, and i read that the European versions are from China, and the US versions say Thailand. I got my watch from an official Casio dealership.

I recall such a similar case happening to me when I was getting a Casio watch. The boxing was different in color, the design and lighting were different, the buckle of the fake was not durable, the manual was lacking text, and pricing was far different than what the official watch price was. Weight wise, the fake weighed less too. After I noticed that this all happened, what I experienced which I thought was good automatically turned upside down.

24hrs after buying my new G-Shock, here I am cringing hoping mine's real - & thankfully yeah, all checks out... via Amazon, with seller resume, so that's good news. Jesh.

I noticed the little grey hour indicators on the fake one look worse. The edges not as defined as on the genuine Casio.

Just received mine from G Shock. Had to do this test cuz you never know. Some buyers could buy legit G Shock from direct and swap a fake and return it since G Shock allows free returns, and they have such a lax return policy. Just worried some jerk might do that and it gets resold by G Shock.

Also, the fake ones will have a black or red line on the back case.

The light on the real one looks really blue, is that just the camera? Because mine is not like that.

also the white dots to indicate the hours is smoothened out to the fake and the real has crispy edges. Im not a genius to making fakes, but at least I can try to make it way more to the actual real deal

From what I gathered from other videos is the light.

another way to tell is the on the small day hand, if you look in the middle of hand it has a tiny hole to fit onto the mechanism, the original doesn't have.

great video. that digital display on the fake looks rough. if you pop off the caseback does the fake have the classic silicon g-shock bumper insert?

i bought a fake one unfortunately, i am starting to sell custom watches, and i replace the plastic band with a metal one and a metal case aswell, and the fake one does fit into the metal band and new casing. now im out 60$ and i am trying to refund it, but its from hong kong and the address that he put on for returns makes it impossible to return it.

Also the fake does not have a quick release for the watch band

Also, the fake one has the week days indicator.... is "outside" of week days. :)) is 180 degrees the other way.

The huge backplates on the fake g shocks are a huge giveaway also

It really pays to buy at your Gshock physical store instead ordering "online" hehe 1st of course you would want to wear the watch Upclose what it feels on your Wrist😁 2Nd you would also want to Check the Authenticity of the Watch in front of you😆 & 3Rd its really a win win to buy in a physical store rather online😝 haha goin back at the watch the no1. Sign if its Fake ofcourse the " metal Box/Case" bec the newer models nowadays comes with the Case w/ white snowy❄ look the Solid black case is the Old Model gshock casing hehe

Could be it’s not fake hence the watches are indeed manufactured in Thailand, China, Japan, and Malaysia. Could be a manufacturing difference.

I have the Casio GM 2100H - Green Metal CasiOak. It has all the features of the GM 2100B-3A, but I can't find any information on it, if it's a fake. The wrist band says Casio Japan rather than Taiwan. All the indicators you stated are on my Casio, but the fact that the code in the back is an H rather than a B makes me wonder if it's real. The same instructions for setting the Casio GA 2100 series for module 5611 works with this Casio.

I find it amazing that a group of people went through all that trouble to fake a 100 dollar watch lol. But after looking at the fake close up it looks like a junky-ass 5 dollar hunk of crap. So I guess I sort of understand
