Then he got more and more famous because he was the ace player of the strongest team at that time who won 3 world titles in a row. Plus those years were LOL prime, which LOL was the No.1 trending online game at that time. Riot and the casters also pushed Faker to be more famous by made him the icon of LOL, like Leonel Messi of football. Faker still has a huge gap in his skills level for a long time so people considered him the best player in the world. Many years past, lot of players got better skills, but the game has changed to focus on more and more team play and strategy, not players' skills anymore, plus, LOL is not as much as popular likes in the past, so no one will ever be as famous as Faker anymore. They try to push Uzi to be the god No.2, but failed because the reasons I said earlier.

Rookie is the best imo

SKT relies too much on Faker. SKT's top laner and jungler are both horrible, their botlane isn't special. They have to many people who try to make plays, and no one to capitalize on them. I'm surprised they aren't trying to hire Rekkles or WildTurtle at this point; two adc's who have tried to take the most gametaking role in the game and played it like its a playmaking role. If we divide players by playmaking and gametaking you can draw the line with people like Caps and PawN as gametaking and Rookie, and Faker as play making. Caps and PawN try to win 1v1s and for the better part they do, if you are an idiot gametaker like Jensen you might think the best way to beat caps is to play a defensive playmaking champion like tank lissandra three games in a row, when really its to fight the skill match up and try to out 1v1 him, Jensen would still lose this match-up because he is worse than Caps, but atleast he would've lost while he was trying to win rather than game throwing. However if you are a good playmaker like Rookie, you can rely on your team to beat the gametaker for you like we saw in the 3 man ganks on Caps in the world finals. Man did that match-up look bad for caps when all was said and done. and lastly there is PawN vs Faker where we saw Faker get reliably solo killed over and over again, because despite being the best playmaker in the world, PawN would sacrifice everything to keep Faker from being the destructive tool we know him to be, and Samsung White was full of people who would apply enough pressure that PawN could actually get the free time he needed to 1v1 Faker, Rookie vs Caps, FNC didn't get Caps the space he needed to fight the 1v1.

Long story short if you were to ask me who the best midlaner in the world was i would say its Pawn or Caps; if you were to ask me who the best player in the game was i'd say its Rookie or Faker. Because Faker and Rookie play the game as a 5v5 and Pawn and Caps play the game as a 1v1. And yes I think players who dedicate their entire existence to beating playmakers like Faker can be considered better than Faker at midlane, because if you look at Faker's mechanics, it takes a lot more than counter picking him to beat him. Also, keep an eye out for Cloud 9 this year. Jensen is gone and they picked up what I would rush to call a Faker clone. Since c9 is made up of mostly gametakers I'm happy to see Nisqy go to c9, and I hope they can play around him when they've typically avoided playing around midlaners like Jensen.

@@KeoniMusic I do, I'm excited to see them play again. However that doesn't change that in 2018 they didn't make world's because there team was full of players who were marginally below average in the pro scene.

To be honest, the entire SKT rosters last year except Faker and Bang were the worst compared to other teams in LCK, and Bang's performance was just on average or a little above.
